RHOA: Kandi Burruss sets up Riley, 16, with $5,547 per month NYC pad

Real Housewives Of Atlanta: Kandi Burruss sets up Riley, 16, with $66k a year NYC pad… as daughter asks ‘am I going to get a tipping allowance?’

Kandi Burruss spent $5,547 per month on a luxury apartment for her 16-year-old daughter, she revealed on Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta.

Riley Burruss was interning at a law firm in New York City, thanks to her mom’s connections, and everyone agreed she needed a place to live.

But the incredible two-bedroom her mom rented for her was far beyond the means of most interns, with a stunning view of the city skyline and a massive rooftop sundeck.

Sweet pad: Riley Burruss, 16, was set up with a $5,547 per month apartment in New York City by her mother Kandi Burruss on Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta

‘Wow, Riley,’ Kandi, 43, muttered when she saw it. ‘You are living the life, little girl.’

The singer-songwriter and her husband, Todd Tucker, had flown up to see the apartment with their three-year-old son, Ace, and Todd’s daughter Kaela, 23, before Riley moved in.

‘I’ve been kind of grooming Riley to be away from me,’ Kandi explained, noting that in previous summers, her daughter had enjoyed stints alone at Stanford University and in London.

Seeing the place was a whole different ballgame, however, as both Kandi and her husband recognized how privileged Riley really was.

Nice view: The two-bedroom apartment in New York City featured a wide view

Law internship: Riley scored a law firm internship in New York City

Sleek kitchen: The apartment featured a sleek kitchen counter

‘She moving on up, like the Jeffersons,’ Kandi commented as she looked around.

‘Sixteen, got a Porsche, high-rise apartment in the city,’ Todd marveled.

When Riley found ice cube trays in the freezer, she didn’t understand how to use them.

Family trip: Kandi, husband Todd and son Ace checked out Riley’s new apartment

Nice car: Todd noted that Riley also has a Porsche

Major trips: Kandi said she was grooming Riley to be away from her, noting that in previous summers her daughter had enjoyed stints alone at Stanford University and in London

‘I thought every freezer had ice makers,’ she said.

When Todd told Riley she would have to spray her shower down to keep it clean, she didn’t understand why, as someone had always cleaned her bathroom for her.

‘I always make this joke with her [that] she’s like the kids from Black-ish,’ Kandi shared, referring to the ABC show. ‘She’s a privileged black kid who’s not really in tune to certain things.’

Ice maker: Riley was shocked to learn the freezer did not have an ice maker

Proud parents: Kandi and Todd gave Riley some much needed advice about living on her own

When the doorman arrived with Riley’s bags, she tipped him with her parents’ money, and asked ‘Am I gonna have a tipping allowance?’.

‘You’re lucky you got an allowance,’ Kaela observed. ‘I’ve never had an allowance in my life.’

‘Then how’d you get money?’ Riley asked her.

No allowance: Kaela remarked that she never received an allowance

Rooftop deck: The apartment featured a massive rooftop sundeck

‘I worked in the summers,’ her stepsister explained.

‘Todd is definitely more strict than me,’ Kandi considered. ‘Todd is like, ”You’re not supposed to have these things at this age,” whereas me, I’m like, ”As long as you’re doing good in school, then you can have it”.’

When Kandi got back to Atlanta, she began to prepare for Cynthia Bailey’s infamous Bailey-Que, along with the rest of the cast.

Good grades: Kandi was fine with Riley being privileged as long as she was doing well in school

The annual event brought everyone together at Lake Bailey, Cynthia’s home, for food, drinks, gossip and some probing discussions.

The theme this year was red, said Cynthia, 52, noting: ‘Everyone in the group looks good in red, and they all love to read, so I put it all together for this year’s theme: Wear red or get read.’

In the days leading up to the event, Porsha Williams, 38, and Kenya Moore, 48, attended a mommy and me dance class together with their infant daughters.

Kenya kept her heels on as she bounced and rolled with one-year-old Brooklyn, while Porsha twerked while carrying PJ, nine months.

They caught up about what was going on in their lives, with Porsha noting that her ex, Dennis McKinley, saw PJ every week, but she was trying to create ‘boundaries’ with him.

Kenya told Porsha that she hadn’t had sex with her husband, Marc Daly, in a long time, partially because he always wanted Brooklyn in bed with them.

Tender moment: Kenya’s daughter Brooklyn was fascinated with Porsha’s daughter Pilar Jhena

Cute smile: Brooklyn flashed her cute smile as Kenya beamed

‘I just didn’t like where we are right now,’ Kenya admitted, crying.

Across town, NeNe Leakes, 51, was making dinner for pal Marlo Hampton, 43, and Gail ‘Yovanna’ Momplaisir, to discuss the upcoming Bailey-Que.

The last time NeNe had seen Marlo was the weekend of New York City’s Pride parade, after which Marlo had been after NeNe to make up with Cynthia, an old friend.

Getting emotional: Kenya wiped away tears while talking about her marriage to Marc Daly

NeNe, feeling ‘badgered,’ stormed out of their lunch and into a waiting pedicab.

When Marlo got to her house this time, she was wowed by the spread of food before her.

‘Oh my God, this is a great apology dinner,’ Marlo said.

Together again: Marlo Hampton met up with NeNe Leakes after their last meeting ended abruptly

‘Apology dinner?’ NeNe replied. ‘Don’t you come in here starting no trouble, honey.’

NeNe told Marlo and Yovanna that she’d been hurt by the things Cynthia had said about her on social media, and didn’t feel like she should be the one to make it up to her.

‘Cynthia has a side to her that you guys do not know about, but she doesn’t want anybody to know it,’ said NeNe, who was not invited to the Bailey-Que.

Dark side: NeNe told her friend Gail ‘Yovanna’ Momplaisir and Marlo that Cynthia Bailey has a side to her that she doesn’t want anyone to know about

She even had a name for her frenemy’s ‘hood rat’ side: ‘Cynt-Cynt.’

Marlo still sought to have NeNe and Cynthia make up, and NeNe admitted she wanted to clear the air with Cynthia, but that was it.

‘This is the reason why I have struggled to tell you what her and I have talked about,’ Yovanna suddenly announced. ‘I went to [Cynthia’s] wine cellar with her, and she was going in on NeNe.’

Sudden announcement: Yovanna interjected that Cynthia recently was ‘going in on NeNe’

‘But do you have receipts?’ Marlo asked.

‘Oh, I got receipts, bitch,’ Yovanna rejoined, turning to NeNe. ‘Her exact words were, ”Being friends with you is toxic, a burden”.’

‘Cynthia, if you watch very closely, you can see her move,’ NeNe affirmed privately. ‘Put your glasses on, clean the lenses and you will see.’

Old friends: NeNe was not invited to Cynthia’s Bailey-Que

At the Bailey-Que, Kenya was the main one bringing the shade as she had a score to settle.

She wrongly believed that Eva Marcille, 35, had once said she didn’t want her kids around her, because she had ‘bad energy.’

‘At this point, I only know Eva to be a shady person,’ Kenya reflected. ‘If someone tells other people that she does not want her kids around me, to me as a mother, that is a very serious blow. I mean, I’m not some guy in a creepy van with no windows.’

Dress code: Kenya wore red to Cynthia’s party along with everyone else

She tried to hand off a doll that Eva had given her for Brooklyn by passing it to Porsha for PJ.

Porsha, who showed up with her new nanny in tow, was at first charmed by the gift.

‘I hope the energy of this gift makes your daughter smile,’ the card from Kenya read.

Doll gift: Porsha was gifted a doll by Kenya who was regifting it after Eva Marcille gave it to her daughter Brooklyn

‘Awww, this is cute!’ Porsha said, smiling, as she took it out of the box. ‘Look at this!’

‘She had another home at first,’ Kenya confessed. ‘I felt like her energy was better in your home.’

‘Let me decode this for y’all,’ Porsha told everyone, realizing what Kenya had done. ‘This beautiful doll was definitely gifted to Kenya by Eva.’

Public decode: Kenya told everyone, ‘This beautiful doll was definitely gifted to Kenya by Eva’

‘You gonna take this whole thing and give it back, regift it to me?’ Porsha told the cameras. ‘So you’re gonna put my baby in the shade? She don’t need any more shade, ok? She already a shady baby.’

Porsha dragged Kenya over to Eva on the porch so they could finally hash things out.

‘I feel like you’re making a problem with me where there isn’t a problem,’ Kenya said, telling Eva what she had heard. ‘You don’t want a problem with me. Trust me.’

Trust her: Eva was told by Kenya that she didn’t want to have a problem with her

‘Vice-versa,’ Eva retorted. ‘If you got your feelings hurt, I can appreciate…’

‘I didn’t get my feelings hurt, ’cause I would have to care about you to get my feelings hurt,’ Kenya insisted.

She then brought up an old beef between Eva and Cynthia, which Cynthia started to explain they had squashed.

Feelings hurt: The former America’s Next Top Model winner squared off with Kenya

‘Ma’am, why are you interrupting me?’ Kenya declared. ‘I am making a point and I would like to be heard.’

‘But you made that point already,’ Cynthia reminded her.

‘You need to stop, Cynthia,’ Kenya urged, and Cynthia said the same thing back at her.

Her turn: Cynthia also was scolded by Kenya for interrupting her

Eva reiterated that Kenya had the whole story about her wrong in the first place.

‘It had nothing to do with pointing fingers at Kenya,’ she emphasized. ‘You can receive it, you can leave it, I care not, enjoy your noodles. Good day, whatever is goin’ on.’

‘It’s like Godzilla and King Kong,’ an amused Kandi observed. ‘Like, the shade is strong on both ends.’

Battle royale: Kandi was enjoying the back and forth between Kenya and Eva

When the subject of NeNe came up, Yovanna noted that Cynthia had ‘talked s***’ about her, but that everyone did that sometimes with their best friends.

‘I wasn’t talking s*** about NeNe, honey,’ Cynthia countered. ‘I was telling you how I felt about NeNe. And if you wanted to take it back to NeNe, I had no problem with it because what I told you was true.’

Then Eva and Marlo got into it, too, reigniting an old feud.

Old feud: Marlo then ignited a simmering feud with Eva

‘I say what a lot of you ladies are thinking and don’t say,’ Marlo remarked, referring to the nasty jibes she’d recently made at Eva’s expense.

‘You say mean s*** because you’re mean,’ Eva stated calmly, fanning herself.

‘Alright, well you know what? You don’t say a lot of s*** you wanna say because you’re fake, and you’re worried how people are gonna look at you,’ Marlo said.

Fake charge: Eva was accused again by Marlo of being fake

‘How you gonna tell me what I wanna say?’ Eva asked.

Marlo intimated then that Eva was not living the life she wanted to live, referring to an earlier rumor she’d spread, which was that Eva was bisexual, and broke.

Eva decided to leave, noting that she was ‘so pregnant,’ and jabbing at Marlo by saying, ‘She’s never been pregnant. She has no idea what that life is like.’

Last jab: Eva decided to leave early but gave a final verbal jab at Marlo

‘You’re still a fraud,’ Marlo jabbed.

‘Says your wig,’ Eva snapped back.

‘Stop living above your means, darling!’ Marlo erupted.

Above means: Marlo continued to insist that Eva was living beyond her means

Once Eva was gone, Marlo turned her attention to Cynthia, suggesting that she was too passive in her relationships, and pointing out that Kenya had just run over her.

Kenya stuck up for Cynthia then, saying: ‘This woman right here, she is a very strong, opinionated woman.’

When Marlo tried to speak, Kenya asked her to let her finish, which incensed Marlo.

Strong woman: Kenya stood up for Cynthia when Marlo turned her attention on her

‘Let’s be clear, you’re not gonna tell me what to do,’ Marlo said. ‘You’re not no boss over here, baby,’

‘Please, I’m a boss everywhere I go, b****,’ Kenya returned.

‘You ain’t a boss at your house, now,’ Marlo offered. ‘You ain’t one over there with Marc. You’re real passive over there, be passive here.’

Boss talk: Kenya insisted that she was the boss everywhere, but Marlo shot back that Kenya was passive at home with her husband

Things had gotten so nasty that there was nothing else to do but pass out the year’s awards, which Cynthia gamely did as she sat in the middle of everyone back inside.

Marlo won ‘shadiest person,’ Kenya won ‘the best read,’ Yovanna won ‘thirst trap,’ and group pals Shamea Morton won ‘best twerker’ over Porsha and Cynthia.

Everyone vied for winning ‘most insecure,’ with women complaining about their big feet, ‘thin’ edges, C-section scars and dark circles, before Kenya offered the heartbreaking reason she felt like she should get the prize: ‘Never finding the love that I would feel is unconditional.’

Twerking competition: Cynthia participated in the twerking competition

Marlo was moved to tell everyone how great they really were, saying: ‘I want you all to know that you’re beautiful, you’re everything, you really are. Even if you don’t like me. Even if I don’t like you.’

‘Why do I feel like I’m in The Help right now?’ Kandi wondered, noting that film’s famous lines: ‘You are smart, you is kind…’

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta will return next week on Bravo.

Medal winner: Marlo won the ‘shadiest person’ award and later gave a speech that reminded Kandi of The Help
