If you’re searching for an instant serotonin boost this afternoon, please turn your focus to Regina King surprising Golden Globe winner Andra Day mid-interview.

Day, who won her first Globe last night for her portrayal of the titular jazz legend in The United States vs. Billie Holiday, was speaking to Access Hollywood via video about her victory when King hopped into the frame behind her. When Day realized who her surprise guest was, a joyous celebration ensued: She screamed and raced out of her seat, King jumped up and down with childlike excitement, and they warmly embraced and showered each other with compliments.

You can’t help but feel the love watching this clip.

After settling down, the two continued the interview together—also joined by actor Aldis Hodge. King called Day’s performance “simply beautiful,” while Day gushed over King’s film One Night in Miami, for which King was nominated for best director. King has four Globe nominations spanning her career, with one win; she took home the best supporting actress award in 2019 for her work in If Beale Street Could Talk.

Day also acknowledged that she is only the second Black woman to win a Golden Globe for best actress in a drama, following Whoopi Goldberg for The Color Purple in 1986. “That’s why this movie makes me so proud because all of these stories that have been suppressed and all of these stage[s] and these places that we’ve been not invited to, that we haven’t been represented in,” Day said of making Billie Holiday.

The actress-singer also recognized King and “all of these amazing actors, all of these amazing artists, and all these people that came before,” on whose shoulders she now stands. “I just want to see this platform keep expanding and keep expanding where it’s not a conversation anymore,” she said of uplifting Black artists and stories.

Now that Day has won a Golden Globe, will we see more from her? “God is great, and if they think I’m ready, I’m ready,” she said.
