Redmond O'Neal Is Being Sued For $100 Million By His Alleged Hate Crime Victim

Redmond O’Neal, the son of Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett, has been in jail awaiting trial for attempted murder, among other charges, since last May. Redmond’s “crime spree”, which lasted several days, included allegedly trying to rob a Venice Beach 7/11 with a knife, allegedly punching a man in the head who tried to speak to him, allegedly stabbing somebody in the face at the Venice boardwalk, and allegedly attacking another man with a bottle. The alleged victim of the latter assault is a man named Ken Fox, and he claims that the attack was a hate crime. And he’s suing Redmond for $100 million in damages. Nothing alleged about that.

According to The Blast, Ken was walking down the street, singing opera, and minding his own damn business when Redmond struck.

Fox says he passed by O’Neal, who then looked at him and said, “What are you looking at, f****t?”

Before he could react, Fox claims O’Neal then struck him in the head with a bottle (or another hard object), breaking his nose. Fox says he then fell to the ground and O’Neal began punching him as he hurled more expletives.

At the time Ken originally filed the suit, back in September of last year, he was seeking damages “in excess of $25,000”. But it sounds like now, the real extent of the damage done, has become more clear.

He claims to have suffered $200,000 in medical expenses and will incur medical costs in the future totaling $1 million. He says he’s lost $200,000 in earnings and claims he will suffer a loss of future earnings totaling $5,000,000.

Fox then tacks on another million for attorneys’ fees, $50,000,000 for “civil penalties” and then another $20 million in punitive damages.

In September Ken released a statement that read (via The Blast):

“I have spent the last four months recovering from what Redmond O’Neal did to me,” Fox said in a statement. “I am speaking out today because I need to do what I can to make sure that this man never injures or hurts another defenseless ‘faggot’ ever again. That’s what Mr. O’Neal called me right before he sucker punched me. The word faggot is hate speech and just one of many offensive terms used to make gay men feel ashamed of themselves.”

After Redmond’s arrest, he blamed his parents for his troubles. And if anybody is going to be able to make a case for successfully being able to blame mommy and daddy, it would be Redmond. But fuck that noise. Redmond is further proof that the only sensible thing Anjelica Huston said in that interview was true. Just like daddy, you get the face you deserve.
