Jonathan Van Ness did not come to play, honey.
The “Queer Eye” star arrived on the red carpet for the Creative Arts Emmys on Sunday in a “lewk” meant to “f—k a gender norm,” as he wrote on Instagram.
The grooming expert, 31, wore a Maison Margiela gown featuring a sheer bodice and beaded skirt with a thigh-hit slit, accessorizing with black platform boots, a sparkly clutch and slicked-back hair.
His date for the evening, Wilco Froneman, shared a photo from the event, under which one commenter wrote, “The guy in the dress looks like the villain in Despicable Me 3.”
Van Ness responded with the following: “I look f—king stunning and my name is Jonathan, snap chat filter using on your Insta tiny circle private profile having self.”
“Also I love all these transphobic comments in here,” the star added. “‘The guy in a dress’ is insulting and for anyone that doesn’t see the implications is blind. F—king rude people I’m too tired.”
Just don’t give Van Ness all the credit. According to the now-three-time Emmy winner, “The true hero of this picture is my publicist holding my tennis shoes to put on as soon as the last category was called ???”
