Priscilla Presley, 77, and daughter Lisa Marie Presley, 54, break down in TEARS at Golden Globes when Elvis star Austin Butler says ‘I love you forever’

There was crying at the Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills on Tuesday evening.

Priscilla Presley, 77, and her daughter Lisa Marie Presley, 54, were seen breaking down in tears during Elvis star Austin Butler’s touching speech when he won Best Actor, Motion Picture Drama for his role as the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. He even said he would love the ladies ‘forever.’

The Presleys had grown close to Butler as he made the epic film from director Baz Luhrmann.

So emotional: There was crying at the Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills on Tuesday evening. Priscilla Presley and her daughter Lisa Marie Presley were seen breaking down in tears during Elvis star Austin Butler’s touching speech when he won for his role as the King of Rock n Roll

Crying: The Presleys had grown close to Butler as he made the epic film from director Baz Luhrmann

They often guided Butler, sharing their stories about what Elvis was like, said Austin from the stage.

The ladies were seen at the Elvis table inside the ballroom of the Beverly Hilton hotel.

They were side by side as they wore elegant black.

And they broke down in tears when Butler spoke about them.

‘I also want to thank our incredible producers and Warner Bros and the Presley family, thank you guys, thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me. Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever.’

The King’s men and women: They broke down in tears when Butler spoke about them. ‘I also want to thank our incredible producers and Warner Bros and the Presley family, thank you guys, thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me. Lisa Marie , Priscilla, I love you forever’

Butler baffled viewers, however, by speaking in an Elvis-inspired Memphis drawl.

The Anaheim-born star, 31, was delighted as he scooped the award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama for his work on 2022 film Elvis.

But the focus quickly switched to his incredibly different sounding voice.

As the star began: ‘I just want to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press for this honor’ before praising his ‘mama’, fans clocked he was still speaking in his Elvis-style Memphis drawl from the movie, almost two years after filming had ended.

All shook up? The Anaheim-born star, 31, was delighted as he scooped the award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama for his work on 2022 film Elvis (left in film and Elvis right) – but the focus quickly switched to his incredibly different sounding voice

The star’s husky acceptance speech saw him become visibly emotional as he said: ‘I also want to say to my fellow nominees, you have turned in the most beautiful profound work and I am so honored and proud to be listed among you.

‘I owe this to a bold, visionary filmmaker who allowed me the experience to take risks and I always knew I would be supported. I love you, Baz Luhrmann, thank you for believing in me in those moments that I didn’t even believe in myself.

‘I’m so grateful to you I also want to thank my dance partner, the greatest dance partner I could have ever hoped for, Mr. Tom Hanks thank you. I also got to thank Denzel Washington Denzel, thank you for your kindness thank you for your generosity in championing me when you did not have to.’

Next he thanked the Presleys.

Can’t let it go: As the star began: ‘I just want to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press for this honor’ before praising his ‘mama’, fans clocked that he was still speaking in his Elvis-style Memphis drawl from the film, months after filming had ended’

‘I also want to thank my family, my sister is here with me tonight, Ashley, I love you so much I want to thank my dad who’s watching at home, I want to thank my mom who I know is smiling down right now mama.

‘I love you so much thank you for sacrificing so much for me. And, lastly, Elvis Presley himself, you are an icon and a rebel. And I love you so much. Thank you. You are remembered and I will never forget, thank you!’

The star failed to mention his girlfriend Kaia Gerber, 21,  during his speech.

Siblings: The star was supported by proud sister Ashley on the night
