Princess Eugenie chooses a British designer for official engagement photos

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have released their official engagement photographs.

The pair will marry at St George’s Chapel, in at Windsor on October 12 – just months after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exchanged vows in the same venue.

Posing in the Picture Gallery at Buckingham Palace, Eugenie wore a £1,288 floral embroidered cap sleeve ‘Hetty’ dress by British label Erdem. She paired the dress with black satin heels from Jimmy Choo.

The princess has actually worn the dress on two occasions already – for the 2016 UNAIDS gala and for her 2017 Harper’s Bazaar photoshoot.

Jack complemented his fiancée in a black suit with a red patterned tie.

Eugenie, 27, has been dating her businessman boyfriend, 31, for about seven years. They got engaged in Nicaragua in January.

Jack presented his bride-to-be, who is ninth in line to the throne, with a padparadscha sapphire ring. The central stone is surrodung by diamonds and the piece bears a striking resemblance to the one worn by her mother Sarah Ferguson.

Eugenie’s choice of outfit is perfect for her bold sense of style and she always looks gorgeous in prints, but at the same time, it champions British fashion.

The photos are much more low key in contrast to Harry and Meghan’s high profile engagement, but we like that the Princess of York has injected a bit of her own personality.

The Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan Markle both chose very tailored block colour ensembles to announce their engagements – Kate wore a blue Issa dress, while the US actress wore a white belted coat by Canadian brand Line The Label with a dark green dress underneath.

Eugenie has a been a bit more daring with her hemline and print, but very sensibly chose a high-neck to avoid upsetting any royal protocols.

While designers of royal wedding dresses are notoriously kept under wraps, we can’t wait to see who Eugenie chooses to design her gown.

The Royal Family are set to mark 2018 with a number of major events, including the two weddings.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their third child, Prince Louis, in April.

And the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mike had their second child this year.
