Princess Beatrice Just Offered to Be Chrissy Teigen's Goddaughter

Princess Beatrice of York (older sister to Princess Eugenie and cousin to Princes William and Harry) has only tweeted twice so far this year, but just like us, the royal lurks around the social site to keep up with unofficial Twitter Queen, Chrissy Teigen. Yesterday, the cookbook author and mother of two shared one of her favorite names on the social media site and it caught the royal’s attention.

“‘bea’ is such an adorable name,” Teigen tweeted. “someone name their kid bea please. I am not ready for another daughter and John says no more dogs. I will be their god parent.”

She quickly followed up to inform the Twittersphere about the correct pronunciation of the name. “no you weirdos. not bee-UH. bea like bee like honeybee,” she added to the thread.

Princess Beatrice—whose Twitter handle is @yorkiebea, in reference to the nickname Bea—saw the post and volunteered as tribute. “I would adore to be your god daughter,” she replied, much to the shock of Teigen and the thousands of people who “liked” and retweeted the post.

“oh my god oh my god oh my god,” a flabbergasted Teigen replied back.

The royal’s shoutout is surprising, considering she’s kept a low profile on the social media site. Her reply to Teigen only marks her second tweet of 2019, and in 2018, she only tweeted nine times, according to her page. She also has a private Instagram account, which fans discovered last year after she was tagged in a post by supermodel friend, Karlie Kloss.

Golden Globe-winning actress Mia Farrow also replied to Teigen’s post with her own equally adorable message. The proud grandmother shared a picture of a precious baby girl sitting on someone’s lap with the caption, “My baby grandchild is named Bea.”

Although she’s a part of the British royal family, Princess Beatrice works in New York as Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at Afiniti, an artificial intelligence company that pairs companies with targeted customers.

Chrissy and John Legend also have a residence in NYC, specifically at a stunning $9 million penthouse they purchased in 2018, located in the Nolita neighborhood of the city.

Here’s hoping the New York-based princess and the Legends connect offline soon, because that is one dinner party we’d be thrilled to join.
