Prince Harry’s ex Cressida Bonas on life as a mum and plans to return to small screen

Prince Harry’s ex girlfriend Cressida Bonas has revealed her plans to return to acting less than a year after welcoming her first child – and is already eyeing up a gritty drama.

The 34 year old gave birth to her son, Wilbur James, with her husband Harry Wenworth Stanley last November and had taken a career break to enjoy her baby bubble.

But as Wilbur approaches his first birthday, Cressida has revealed she has been thinking about returning to work.

Speaking exclusively to OK! at the Zara Muse exhibition at Quantus Gallery in London on September 21, Cressida told us, “I absolutely love being a mum, but I also love acting and I’m looking forward to getting back to work soon.”

Cressida has already appeared in several films and TV series, including White House Farm, which was based on the infamous 1985 White House Farm murders. She has also appeared on stage in The Great Gatsby, There’s a Monster in the Lake and one woman show, An Evening With Lucian Freud.

“Theatre is my real passion, but if the script was right, I’d definitely consider another gritty drama," she added.

It was a rare night out for Cressida, who last year shunned the party scene to start a family.

The actress, who married property developer Harry, the son of the Marchioness of Milford Haven in July 2020, has been open about their struggle to conceive.

She revealed last year how she sought fertility advice from nutritionists and psychics as well as having reflexology and acupuncture treatments.

She said at the time (December 2020), “My mind was on a constant worry loop and my obsession with getting pregnant became overwhelming. No matter how many Mystic Megs I saw or expensive supplements I took, nothing was working, and I felt as if my body was failing me.”

Cressida decided to try IVF, and though initially feeling “frightened,” she conceived Wilbur following the first round.

"I am aware how fortunate we are," she added. "We haven’t suffered the extreme heartbreaks that other couples have.”

Cressida was joined at the event by Keith Lemon funnyman Leigh Francis, former Eastenders star Danielle Harold, Strictly star Katya Jones, DJ and presenter Ashley James, Love Island runners up Ella Thomas and Tyrique Hyde, Gogglebox star Stephen Webb and boxer Derek Chisora.
