Police called after Barca star ‘refused to pay £14k bar bill on his birthday’

Police had called to a top club after claims Spanish forward Munir El Haddadi refused to pay a £14k bar bill after celebrating his 23rd birthday.

According to reports, the attacking midfielder reserved an area of the famous nightclub Tiffany’s in the Spanish capital Madrid to stage his celebration.

However, the night was said to have turned messy when Tiffany’s staff brought a bill for €16k when revellers were ready to go home.

According to reports, staff members and attendees became embroiled in a drawn-out quarrel for several hours.

In the end, Munir allegedly refused to pay the bill and Tiffany’s bosses called the National Police.

After cops arrived, the Barca star reluctantly paid the bar tab with a slight discount of £890, reports said.

Munir began his career in the youth ranks of Atletico Madrid before transferring to Barcelona in 2011, where he won the 2013-14 UEFA Youth League.

He scored in his first match for the senior team in August 2014 at the start of the season when Barcelona went on to win the treble (league title, King’s Cup and Champions League).

Munir earned his first cap for the Spain national team in September 2014, and unsuccessfully appealed to FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport to switch allegiance to Morocco for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

He was selected in Barca’s Champions League squad and appeared against Boca Juniors in the Joan Gamper pre-season tournament.
