Former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan, 56, took to social media to brag about drinking a £1,300 bottle of wine during a “pandemic soiree”. Since coronavirus restrictions were relaxed on April 12, allowing the hospitality industry to open up outside, the media personality has shared his outdoor dining experiences with fans.

Taking to Instagram, Piers shared the picture of the 1916 Montrose bottle in view of his 1.6million followers.

He captioned the snap: “Not sure early evening London pandemic soirees get much more refined than this…”

As well as two bottles of red wine, the star grazed on a bowl of salted nuts and had two cigars ready to be smoked.

As the star doesn’t have to make it into the GMB studios in the early hours of the morning anymore, the journalist was able to enjoy his evening at private members club, Mark’s Club.

Referencing the lavish table, one follower revealed their envy over the 105-year old bottle of wine the former newsreader was enjoying.

They wrote: “Oh I love to see how the other half live, it’s great, enjoy!

“You are oysters and champagne and I am cockles and a lager!”

Piers’ fellow ITV colleague Phillip Schofield commented with three applauding hand emojis.

Another social media user praised the presenter for his palette.

They commented: “An amazing wine to have instead of a dessert with a great cigar and watch life passing by. Bravo.”

The snap comes a day after the star was pictured leaving celebrity haunt The River Cafe in London with journalist wife, Celia Walden.

Situated in a “Mayfair townhouse,” Mark’s describes itself as an “alternative to the St James’s gentlemen’s clubs.”

It also has a dress code which states that members and guests must be “elegantly dressed”.

The strict code bans women from wearing leggings, light denim, and sportswear, while men are asked to refrain from wearing collarless shirts, leather and suede.

Power couple David and Victoria Beckham have been pictured at the Mayfair club, as well as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s model brother, Toby.

Days ago Piers spoke out to share his surprise after Kirstie Allsopp said she wanted him to return to Good Morning Britain following his dramatic exit from the ITV show.

It comes after the latter claimed she would “never acknowledge” him again following an online spat.

Earlier this month, she tweeted: “Still pleading for reporters to find their mojo and question Government on the prevention of vital family visits to those in hospital.”

A fan then responded to her writing: “We need @piersmorgan back in the game…”

In view of her 426,000 followers, Kirstie replied: “I really, really hate to admit this, but I am beginning to feel this might be true.

“No one else seems to have the guts to really question things.”
