Peter Andre sports Gino D'Acampo face mask after contracting COVID-19

‘Thanks for the mask!’: Peter Andre sports a Gino D’Acampo face mask indoors to protect his family after testing positive for COVID-19

Peter Andre confirmed he has been wearing a face mask at home, gifted by Gino D’Acampo, as he protects his family while he battles coronavirus.

The Mysterious Girl singer, 47, revealed his COVID-19 positive diagnosis earlier this week and admitted he was in ‘absolute agony’ after suffering from an achy back and a cough.

He updated his 3.1 million fans on Twitter on Friday, while his whole family were also at home, quarantining.

While sporting a white hoodie and a face mask emblazoned with the TV chef’s name, 44, he said: ‘I have figured a way that I can walk around parts of the house, if I wear a mask.

‘The irony is I’ve got to self isolate, but I’m breathing all over Gino D’Acampo.

‘Now Gino is a good friend of mine, but I’m sure he wouldn’t want me breathing on him right now. Anyway, thanks for the mask man!’

In a vlog uploaded on his Youtube account, Peter documented his journey to the coronavirus testing centre recently alongside his wife Emily, daughters Princess, 13, Amelia, seven, and his son Theo, four.

His partner, 31, who is working on the frontline as a NHS doctor, believed he didn’t have COVID-19, but still thought it was best to err on the side of caution and get tested.

She said: ‘If I was a gambling woman, I’d say you probably caught a virus from Theo and it isn’t COVID.’

As he waited on his test results, Peter shared another update from his bed and said: ‘I woke up this morning, I haven’t got my results back yet, when I woke up today I was aching all over.

‘I was in absolute agony… But I don’t think it’s coronavirus – my coughing has subsided and I haven’t had a temperature. Either way, I don’t think it is coronavirus.’

The reality star was understandably shocked when he received his positive diagnosis. He updated his followers once more and said: ‘So the results have come through and I have tested positive.

‘So I am actually quite surprised because I didn’t think I had all the symptoms, I didn’t have the temperature but it just goes to show that it could be anything.

‘But like I said I’m incredibly grateful that it hopefully doesn’t get worse, obviously, but if this is what it is, the body aches, then I’m very grateful I got this version of it.

‘It’s not pleasant but I am very, very lucky as I have got a cousin who is still in oxygen in hospital and it really freaks me out.’ (sic)

The singer appeared to be soldiering on as he relied on paracetamol and coffee to keep him ‘perked up’.

His representatives recently told MailOnline: ‘Peter has COVID-19 but is coping OK at present.’

Meanwhile an insider told The Sun: ‘Peter started feeling unwell a few days ago, but he didn’t suspect that he had coronavirus, despite feeling extremely tired and unwell.

‘But he decided to go for a test to make sure as he started feeling very weak, which is unusual for him and he struggles to breathe sometimes.

‘Because Emily is working and the UK is in lockdown, Pete has no option but to look after his four children as normal and isolate away from Emily at home. There’s no-one else to look after the children and he doesn’t want to put anyone else at risk of catching it.’
