Pete Davidson jokes on ‘SNL’ about switching Ariana Grande’s birth control

All eyes weren’t just on Kanye West during “Saturday Night Live’s” Season 44 premiere.

Taking to Instagram, Ariana Grande added a photo of fiancé Pete Davidson to her story, captioning the photo, “live from ny,” with a heart.

Davidson, 24, portrayed Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island during the show’s cold open sketch, which mocked Supreme Court candidate Brett Kavanaugh’s testimony. He also spoke about his whirlwind engagement to Grande, 25, on “Weekend Update.”

“I got engaged and no one could believe it. I can’t believe it,” Davidson said. “I get it, she’s the No. 1 pop star in the world and I’m that guy from ‘SNL’ that everyone things is in desperate need of more blood.”

Davidson confirmed his engagement to Grande in June. He also quipped about the couple’s prenup situation with co-star Colin Jost.

“I wanted one, God forbid we split up and she takes half my sneakers,” Davidson said.

“I’m totally comfortable being with a successful woman. I live at her place. She plays like sixty grand for rent, and all I have to do is stock the fridge,” he continued.

The comedian also joked about switching Grande’s birth control with Tic Tacs.

“I believe in us and all, but I just want to make sure that she can’t go anywhere,” Davidson said.

Grande was originally tapped to perform for Saturday’s show, but dropped out following a rough few weeks, which included the death of ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who died of an apparent drug overdose. West took the singer’s place, and closed out the episode with a Pro-Trump rant.
