He’s currently busy shooting his new comedy film based on his life growing up in Staten Island, New York, and directed by Judd Apatow.

And Pete Davidson decided to go shirtless as he filmed new scenes for Staten Island on Tuesday after his ex-fiancée Ariana Grande admitted that she ‘didn’t know’ him in her candid August cover of Vogue interview.

The Saturday Night Live star, 25, displayed his inked torso as he wore a pair of bottle green basketball shorts with a pair of black socks and grey trainers.

In a different snap Pete added a black long-sleeved top, which said Ghostface Killah on it, as he walked hand-in-hand with child actors Luke David Blumm and Alexis Florenza during filming.

While Spider-Man star Marisa Tomei, 54, who is starring alongside Pete, opted for grey floral silk trousers with a black vest top.

She finished her look with a straw cowboy hat and a pair of matching snakeskin patterned cowboy boots.

Pete co-wrote the script with director Judd Apatow and Dave Sirius with the project first revealed in late January, when Deadline reported that the then-untitled film would revolve around Davidson’s own life.

It will reflect a storyline that mirrors the comic’s upbringing, including his firefighter father who was killed in service during the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York City.

Scott Davidson was last seen running up the stairs of World Trade Center before it collapsed, Pete, who was just seven-years-old when his dad was killed, was profoundly affected by the loss.

The two stars embarked on a whirlwind five-month relationship and got engaged after just four-weeks of dating yet called things off in October.

She told America’s Vogue magazine: ‘My friends were like, “Come! We’re gonna have a fun summer [in New York.]” And then I met Pete, and it was an amazing distraction.

‘It was frivolous and fun and insane and highly unrealistic, and I loved him, and I didn’t know him. I’m like an infant when it comes to real life and this old soul, been-around-the-block-a-million-times artist. I still don’t trust myself with the life stuff.’

Prior to her romance with Pete, Ariana had been in a two-year relationship with late star Mac Miller who tragically died aged 26 after an accidental overdose in September.

The Dang! rapper had previously admitted he had battled substance abuse since his teens, using drugs including cocaine and opiates when he was just 15-years-old.

Talking about their romance and his addictions, Ariana said: ‘People don’t see any of the real stuff that happens, so they are loud about what they think happened. They didn’t see the years of work and fighting and trying, or the love and exhaustion.’
