Perrie Edwards commemorated her son Axel’s first birthday with a series of adorable pictures of her little boy’s ‘cake smash’ which she posted on her Instagram.
A craze which originated in the U.S., a cake smash is where a one-year-old gets messy with a cake and a photographer is at hand to capture the candid moments.
Perrie, 29, and her little one appeared equally thrilled by the experience, as the beaming mother of one posed beside her son in one snap.

The Little Mix singer, who was wearing a beige satin shirt, sat with her boy on her knee, who was wearing a set of tiny denim dungarees.
In other images, Axel was wearing a neutral knitted baby grow while covered in cake, as he cheekily pulled tongues at the photographer’s camera.
Axel was sat in front of an incredible display of black and white photos documenting his life since he arrived in the world last year.

Her bandmates also swooned over the snaps, as Jade Thirlwall shared a series of crying emojis underneath the photographs.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock, who has twin boys with her fiancé Andre Gray, wrote: ‘Look at him mannnn.’

She gave fans a glimpse of her life as a new mum over the past year in the unseen footage, against the 2002 track Baby Boy by Big Brovaz.
In the rare clips, Axel, who she shares with her footballer fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, 29, can be seen enjoying a bath and cosying up to his mother.

Before donning a gold party hat on the big day, he also wears a pair of dungarees and a baby grows while sharing a sweet kiss with the Move songstress.
In her caption, she wrote: ‘A whole year of Axel. Memories to cherish forever. I love you my absolute joy, you’ll always be my baby boy!’
It comes after Perrie announced that she was engaged to boyfriend Alex.
She took to her Instagram page to share the happy news along with some pictures of the footballer as he got down on one knee to propose.

He could be seen placing the diamond ring on her finger before the couple shared a kiss.

Perrie and her Liverpool FC fiancé have been dating since 2016 but they didn’t go public with their romance until February 2017.
Former X Factor contestant Perrie previously dating ex One Direction member Zayn Malik.
They got engaged in August 2013 but later split in August 2015.

However, she told Metro the same year: ‘We always talk about the future. He’s my forever, but I don’t think we are ready to get engaged any time soon.’
