Paulina Porizkova paid tribute to her late estranged husband and co-frontman of The Cars, Ric Ocasek, when she celebrated their son Oliver’s college graduation.

On Sunday, the legendary supermodel took to Instagram to honor her boy’s collegiate accomplishments by sharing a family photo alongside Oliver and his brother Jonathan.

‘This weekend, I want to send out well-wishes and congratulations to everyone whose children are taking a big step into adulthood,’ she began in the caption before making a reference to her sons’ famous father.

‘But my heart goes out to all of us who are attending such momentous occasions as graduations – with someone crucial missing.’

‘Their absence in these joyous occasions is probably even more keenly felt,’ Porizkova, 56, continued.

‘They SHOULD be here. There is such a painfully felt hollow where they belong.’

She went on to point out that both Oliver and Jonathan thrived in their studies at the University of Rochester and NYU, respectively, despite having to endure the death of their dad and the COVID-19 pandemic that followed just six months later.

‘Both of our boys graduated on time, with honors, after having the worst year and a half of their lives. I’m so incredibly proud of them. And I know he is too.

‘Together, we’ve raised some outstanding human beings,’ she concluded the post along with the hashtags: ‘#proudmama #graduation #missingyou’

Happy birthday: The proud mother also shared a second photo of Oliver tossing his cap int the air, and noted that he also celebrated his 23rd birthday on graduation day

In a second post on her Insta-Story, the proud mother also noted that Oliver’s graduation came on the day as his 23rd birthday.

‘Happy 23rd bday on the 23rd,’ she captioned a photo of him tossing his graduation cap in the air.

The milestones are, no doubt, bittersweet for Porizkova, now that she’s in the middle of legal proceedings over Ocasek’s estate.

In the months before his death of natural causes in September 2019, the Just What I Needed songwriter had rewritten his will to exclude two of his six sons and Porizkova, alleging that ‘she has abandoned me’ amid their divorce proceedings.

Despite having begun the divorce process in 2017, the longtime face of Estée Lauder believed that they remained on great terms — considering they still shared a home together in New York City and she was by his side when The Cars were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in April 2018.

In fact, the Czechoslovakia native was caring for Ocasek when she found him dead in the home following an unspecified surgery.

During an interview with CBS Sunday Morning five months after his passing, she likened his move to disinherit her to a ‘betrayal’ and that the ‘incredible hurt’ came as a shock.

‘It’s made the grieving process really, really tricky. I’m never gonna get an answer, and that sucks,’ she said at the time.

Porizkova was just 19 when she first met Ocasek while shooting the music video for The Cars’ hit song Drive in 1984.

At the time, she was just began making her mark in the beauty business, en route to becoming one of the top supermodels in the world, and he was the co-lead vocalist and chief songwriter for The Cars, who were massively popular through the 1980s.

The couple would start dating soon after making the video, and go on to get married in August 1989.

They were never legally divorced at the time of his death at the age of 75.

Porizkova went public with her new relationship with screenwriter Aaron Sorkin when they hit the red carpet together at the 93rd Academy Awards about a month ago.
