The former footballer, 53, opted for full comfort as he soaked up the weather on the beach in Honduras, during which he appeared to be recovering well as he ditched his arm brace after dislocating his shoulder.

Tapping into full relaxation mode, the tattooed star enjoyed a nap as he chilled out on the sandy shores of the island.

In an analysis after the show, Iva said: ‘What a body!’, to which Ilary responded: ‘Most shipwrecked contestants are feeling uncomfortable from huger and feeling tired but Paul feels at ease, here, free and happy.’

Iva responded: ‘I love Paul, I like him a lot’, which cheeky Ilary said: ‘But I see two buttocks in the wind.’

Former Geordie Shore Elettra said: ‘How wonderful’, while Iva said: ‘What’s on his bum, I can’t see’, as Ilary said: ‘Let’s see camera angle B. Elettra can you see?’ Yet Elettra struggled, saying: ‘I can see, pixelated, but I can see..

Returning to the analysis, Ilary said: ‘In the past few days Paul Gascoigne seems more and more isolated than rest of the group.’

During a recent episode, the Geordie star was left in tears after he discovered that some of his co-stars were slamming his laid-back appearance on the show, before insisting he’s used to criticism due to his high-profile football career.

The sports legend is facing ‘mental challenges’ as his injury has forced him out of competing in physical games for the remaining duration of the competition.

According to The Sun, Paul said: ‘It hurts when I hear people say things like this, especially as when we arrived we were all friends and now people are against each other.

‘I had 30,000 angry people every weekend saying, ”You fat b*****d”. So you think two or three people moaning about me behind my back is going to hurt me? No, I’m just going to laugh.’

On how he’s participating in the series, a source told the publication: ‘He can’t do anything physical for at least two weeks, but the aim is for him to be mentally challenged.

‘We are looking at some Italian language tests or maybe arithmetic or geography questions.’ MailOnline previously contacted Paul’s representatives for further comment.

Paul recently revealed he would be willing to return to the programme despite his accident.

At the time, the former Lazio player said he is ‘quite good’ and added that his shoulder is ‘so, so’ as the presenter Ilary Blasi asked for updates on his health condition.

The media personality is reportedly being paid around 7,000 euros (£5,981) for each week he is taking part in the show.
