Paul had been dating mother-of-two Wendy, 43, after they met in Spain, and they had been self-isolating in Bridlington, East Yorkshire.

However a source claimed Wendy was furious when the former England star – who has battled alcoholism for years – was filmed visiting his pals home for a drink, and has now returned to her flat in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.

A family friend allegedly told The Daily Star: ‘Wendy was really keen on Paul and thinks he’s lovely but couldn’t trust him to behave responsibly.’

Over:  A source claimed Wendy was left furious when she learned Paul had visited his pal, and has moved back to her own flat in Lincolnshire

They added: ‘She’s a mother of two and has three young grandchildren to think about and has to put their health and safety first.

‘They’d been staying at her flat, but moved to Bridlington where they could be left alone during lockdown. But Paul let her down.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Paul Gascoigne for comment.

Last month Paul was filmed joining friends in a garden shed pub in the video shared on social media.

The ex-Newcastle player’s agent said the video was shot 10 weeks ago, before the Government urged people to stay indoors to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

But the clip clearly shows Gascoigne wearing shorts and there are leaves on trees in the background.

Paul Salmon built the ‘lads’ pad’ near a caravan site in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, last year, The Sun reports.

Video shows Paul unlocking the door and saying: ‘Here we are lads!’ His friend then admits that they had a party on a previous night as the camera captures empty beer bottles around the property.

The owner then announces that the former Spurs midfielder is ‘in the old shed’ for a ‘few beers’.

Gascoigne is then seen making an ‘okay’ sign with his fingers after being asked whether it’s the best beer shed he’s ever been in.

But they couldn’t enjoy it for long, as a later video showed Salmon’s furious wife, Elizabeth, smashing up the property, telling them ‘you’ve pushed me too far’ and saying they have been ‘torturing’ her with the early morning parties.

It comes just months after Gascoigne proudly told audiences he was incapable of drinking alcohol to excess.

In January, he revealed that pellets in his stomach make him feel sick if he drinks more than a couple of beers.

Angry: However the owner’s wife later did this to the shed as she ranted that people drinking inside it had been keeping her up at night
