Dad of three Mike Tindall is still a “hell of a party animal” who will be bringing the good vibes to the I’m A Celeb jungle, says close friend Danny Care.
The former rugby ace, 44, even has a secret bar at the Gloucestershire home he shares with wife Zara, Queen Elizabeth II’s granddaughter, which was put to regular use during lockdown.
Harlequins player Danny, who rose through the rugby ranks under Mike's care and guidance, told OK!: “He’s still a hell of a party animal. Him and Zara enjoy partying when they can.
“I know that Mike has a secret bar in the house somewhere which he’s FaceTimed me from a few times.
"I was very jealous of that during lockdown. He’ll be bringing the party to I’m A Celeb.”
There are few people who know the ex-rugby captain better than Danny, 35. Mike, 44, and Zara, 41, wereguests of honour when he married his wife Jodie, 31, in a ceremony covered by OK!in 2016.
And they witnessed Mike and Zara tie the knot in a private ceremony in Edinburgh in 2011 without any of the high pomp that marked the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Danny revealed: “Their wedding I can attest was a hell of a party and both of them were involved until the very end. It finished at about 6am or 7am somewhere in Edinburgh – I couldn’t tell you where, but both of those guys were still the life and soul of the wedding.”
Mike and Zara – who he calls Zed – met in a bar in Sydney, Australia in 2003 – the night England beat Australia and won the rugby World Cup – and are regularly spotted on family days out with their three kids, Mia, eight, Lena, four, and Lucas, one. Despite having their hands full with their brood, making time to party is still high on their agenda.
The couple are now raising their young family on theGatcombe Park royal estate , with his mother-in-law close at hand for babysitting duties.
He’s always been open abouttheir love storyand previously said of his royal partner, “I’d love Zara if she worked behind a check-out at Tesco. She just happens to bePrincess Anne’sdaughter.”
