Only Fools And Horses icon Sir David Jason, 83, set to return to screens with new BBC show alongside The Repair Shop’s Jay Blades
Only Fools And Horses legend Sir David Jason is set to return to TV screen with a brand new show.
The actor, 83, will co-host Touring Toolshed with The Repair Shop’s Jay Blades.
The show follows the duo as they explore the UK meeting amateur hobbyists, crafters and creators who are keen to show off their home-made projects, but may need some help from experts.
‘It’s great to be back on the nation’s TV screens doing something totally different,’ Sir David told The Sun.
‘I’ve played a lot of roles in my time but, to be myself, show off my creative passion and help the wonderful people we meet along the way resolve their mechanical masterpiece issues is very rewarding.

‘I’ve really enjoyed being on the road with Jay where we have built up a great friendship and had a lot of fun, which I hope the viewers will enjoy watching when it airs.’
The series is produced by Jay’s production and will run for 15 episodes on BBC One.
The pair have formed a close friendship, with Sir David paying a visit to The Repair Shop last year.
Jay, 53, took to social media at the time and wrote: ‘Hi Guys Look who came down to visit us at @TheRepairShop today? A Real Diamond Geezer I’m a very Happy Bunny.’
Despite a string of TV hits under his belt, Sir David will forever be known as enterprising cockney Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter, who drove a three-wheeled 1967 Reliant Regal Supervan III and wanted nothing more than to be a millionaire – with the least effort required possible.
And Sir David’s national treasure status has ensured his earnings have stayed buoyant.
His company, Peglington Productions Ltd, revealed the star had earned around £2.3million in 2018 and 2019.
In 2017, he made it to the BBC’s list of top earners, with an estimated salary from the broadcaster of between £300,000 and £349,999.
