Olly Murs has parted ways with his record company RCA after 12 years.

The Dear Darlin’ hitmaker, 37, is said to have wanted to ‘shake things up a bit’, with the star ‘exited’ about the next chapter in his music career.

Olly’s exit from RCA has since reportedly sparked a bidding war from other firms keen to sign him up as he prepares to release his long-awaited seventh album.

A source told The Sun: ‘Olly was with RCA for 12 years which is a really long time. It felt like it was time to move on and try something new. He had a discussion with them and ultimately decided he wanted to shake things up a bit.

‘He has been in the studio working on music for months now and wants to get it out soon.’ 

The insider went on: ‘As things stand, loads of labels have expressed their interest and now it’s just a case of finding the best deal which will work for him. Olly is really excited about the next chapter.’

Olly’s representatives confirmed to MailOnline he has left RCA.

They added that after having had some ‘time out’, Olly is ‘raring to go’ with a new team with him. 

The former X Factor star’s last album was 2018’s You Know I Know, which peaked at number two on the official charts.

Olly has enjoyed a successful music career since finishing second on the ITV singing show, having bagged 18 Top 40 hits including four number one’s as well as four number one albums.

It comes after Olly heaped praise on his late friend Caroline Flack for ‘making him feel at ease’ during a Friday appearance on This Morning to promote his new show Starstruck.

The singer who admitted he felt emotional speaking about his former co-star, confessed his apprehension in returning to TV presenting after she took her own life in February 2020.

He told presenters Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond: ‘When we worked together, she was the pro so I sat there and took in everything she did. 

‘Caz was brilliant – I get emotional talking about it – she was just phenomenal to work with. She made it look so easy. God, we had our fights backstage, we had our moments together.

‘But when the cameras came on and we walked out together, she just made it look so easy where I was like, “After the break…” and Caroline was literally just laughing at me and made me feel at ease the whole time.’
