Nikki Bella Reveals She Has a Brain Cyst, Forcing Her Into Early Retirement

When Nikki Bella revealed she’s retiring from the WWE on Total Bellas back in March, it shook her fans. But now that a few months have passed, Nikki’s ready to give insight into why she’s really leaving.

She and her sister Brie Bella joined Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, where Nikki revealed that she’s giving up her wrestling career because of serious health issues, including a cyst on her brain.

“For me, I really wanted to go back and fight for the tag titles,” Nikki said on the show. “I’ve always had my neck issues and after neck surgery, it hasn’t been okay. I feel like I needed to get a checkup before we went back for the tag titles.

The results came back and I herniated the disc above where I had surgery, I have all this inflammation around the metal and then I have a cyst on my brain. So they were like, ‘You’re done, no more, you’re out,’ so I didn’t get a choice, which sucks.”

That’s really all she cared to say about the cyst on the show, but Nikki did catch up with TMZ a little bit on Thursday, assuring fans the cyst is (thankfully) benign.

“It’s super scary, it’s something you’re never gonna hear, but I’m so grateful,” she said. “I’m grateful for my health, I’m grateful it’s benign. It’s something that you have to watch out for the rest of your life because you never know how it can change, but I’m definitely grateful because people go through it worse.”
