Nick Jonas may have made the first move that ultimately led to his engagement with Priyanka Chopra. But she is clearly now in the driver’s seat — and she seems driving as fast as possible to the speedy conclusion of that engagement in a wedding ceremony prior the end of the year.
Entertainment Tonight caught up with Priyanka after word got out that her friends Lupita Nyong’o, Kelly Ripa, Anjula Acharia, and Mubina Rattonsey had thrown her a hastily put-together bridal shower over the weekend in New York. In her interview with ET, Priyanka revealed that Nick made the first move in the couple’s lightning-fast romance, reaching out to her on text saying the two should “connect.”
But now engaged, Priyanka seems well beyond the “connecting” portion of her relationship and appears determined to move things along for a pretty rapidly planned wedding. Major Indian news outlets have recently been reporting that the date that Priyanka has penciled in for the wedding could be as soon as December 2nd or 3rd.
With that tight timeline in mind, Priyanka’s friends threw her the “intimate” bridal shower that included hosts Lupita Nyong’o, Kelly Ripa, Anjula Acharia, and Mubina Rattonsey, as well as the mothers of both Priyanka and Nick, Priyanka’s prospective sister-in-law Danielle, and a number of Priyanka’s Bollywood friends.
In video from the shower, the “Quantico” actress can be seen wearing a strapless white Marchesa gown. It appears that Tiffany and Co made available a floor of their flagship New York store for Priyanka’s friends to party on short notice.
