Nick Cannon says he’s ‘failed miserably so many times at monogamy and relationships’ … as he’s expecting eighth and ninth child
Nick Cannon opened up on how he views his love life, monogamy, relationships and his chances of getting married again in a new interview.
Cannon, 41, spoke on the inaugural episode of the podcast All the Way with Shelley Wade Sunday, saying that he is not opposed to the concept of marriage, but that he’s had challenges in his personal life that have not made it feasible.
‘I’m a hopeless romantic at the end of the day, so I love the concept, I love the ceremony of it,’ The Masked Singer personality said. ‘I’ve failed miserably so many times at monogamy and relationships, but God ain’t done with me. We’re gonna figure it out.’

The San Diego, California native said that he continues to grow as a person, and as such, would not rule out getting married again.
‘I think as I’m growing, I’ve probably had a few midlife crises in my life,’ Cannon said. ‘I’m liking the man that I’m growing into and I feel like someone who will understand me and can stand by me.’
Cannon said that ‘acts of service’ resonate with him personally, adding that ‘it’s more about servitude and that sense of someone who you can serve each other and where you’re weak, they’re strong.
‘And if I can ever find somebody that knows how to hold me down through all my madness, through all my chaos and toxicity, that’s probably somebody I can rock with for life.’

The interview came more than a month after Cannon, appearing on the podcast It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper, said he was resistant to the concept of conventional marriage.
He added, ‘It depends on what you call marriage – getting the government involved, nah – we can go have a ceremony somewhere.’
Cannon questioned why the ‘government [should] be involved in your love life,’ saying that it ‘seems so bizarre to’ him.
Cannon was previously in an eight-year marriage to singer Mariah Carey, 53, between 2008 and 2016, and the former couple share twins Moroccan and Monroe Cannon, 11.
He dubbed the marriage as ‘one of the greatest experiences of [his] life,’ noting that since that came ‘to an end as well,’ it’s made him more skeptical of getting married again.
Cannon said that in looking at a potential partner, ‘acts of service’ resonate with him

‘Why would I go back if I couldn’t make that work out right?’ he said. ‘Once I gave my all to a scenario, going forward, I’d have to be presented with something I’ve never seen before in order to go back to something like that.
‘I did my best in this space, and now I feel like there’s a new journey in my life. I’m not going to backtrack and put myself in that situation again because it doesn’t get better than that.’
On the podcast, Cannon said he doesn’t ‘subscribe to … the traditional sense of monogamy.’
In addition to his twins with Carey, Cannon is father to five other children: Golden, five, and Powerful, 18 months with Brittany Bell; twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, one, with Abby De La Rosa; and late son Zen, who tragically died last December from brain cancer, with Alyssa Scott.
This past January, he announced he and model Bre Tiesi are expecting a baby. Sources told TMZ earlier this month that Cannon and De La Rosa are expecting another child this fall.
