Mystery Texas Woman In Apparent Restraints No Longer A Mystery — Here’s Everything We Know

As we reported Wednesday, the mystery woman who went viral after being seen on doorbell camera video in the middle of the night in Montgomery County, Texas has been located.

Now we have more details.

According to information released by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, she is reportedly 32 years old, and currently “alive and well.”

And there’s more to this story: on Wednesday afternoon in that same neighborhood subdivision where the viral videos were taken, a 49-year-old man reportedly died by suicide.

Judging by the notes the man left behind after his death, police were able to connect the dots and reveal that he was the boyfriend of the woman who appeared on video.

A press release from the county sheriff detailed more about the man’s notes and suicide (below):

“Before doing so he left several notes connecting him to the female who appeared to be wearing restraints. The male indicated that he did this in response to the national attention given to the situation among a few other things not yet disclosed.”

Wow.

The sheriff’s office also determined that the woman in the video was indeed wearing restraints, as had been widely suspected, and they were apparently connected to long-standing domestic violence the woman endured at the hands of her boyfriend before his death.

It’s unclear at this point whether the woman was escaping a violent situation from the boyfriend at the time the video was captured, but considering the restraints were present, cops are clearly concerned about what she went through immediately before coming on camera (below):

“There are some issues obviously with the video surveillance and why she was wearing those restraints and the circumstances surrounding it.”

The woman is now in Dallas, though authorities say they are planning a face-to-face meeting with her soon.

So, so scary, but thank goodness the woman was found safe. Just unsettling to think about what she must have endured…
