Miranda Lambert’s husband Brendan McLoughlin takes a leave of absence as a cop with NYPD

Miranda Lambert’s police officer husband, Brendan McLoughlin, has taken a leave of absence from the New York Police Department.

‘Police Officer Brendan McLoughlin is on an authorized leave of absence,’ a rep with NYPD’s Public Information Office confirmed to Radar on Friday, July 19.

The department is not legally allowed to disclose the reasons for the request, but police officials have said that members of the service ‘take leaves for various reasons, many of which are personal in nature.’

McLoughlin, 28, has been assigned to NYPD’s Manhattan Midtown South precinct.

He has often been featured in the department’s Twitter page, which includes when he was acknowledged for helping take down a bank robber with a fellow officer.

‘PO McLoughlin apprehended [the] perpetrator in a bank robbery in progress… Job well done guys,’ police officials wrote in the tweet alongside a photo of the two officers.

The couple tied-the-knot in a secret wedding this past January, and went public with the happy news on Valentine’s Day.

‘In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched! My heart is full, Lambert wrote in an Instagram post.
