CMT has announced the list of honorees for this year’s all-female “Artists of the Year” celebration.
Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Little Big Town‘s Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman, and Lady Antebellum‘s Hillary Scott will be honored at the 2018 special, which will be held on October 17.
CMT will dedicate the day’s broadcast in support of the “Woman of Country.”
CMT said that for the first time since the annual CMA Awards were instituted in 2012 to highlight the strongest voices in country music, the 2018 “CMT Artists of the Year” special is dedicated to the all time great women of country music.
Leslie Frame, Senior Vice President of Music & Talent at CMT, said, “This year, we’re evolving the special to reflect what’s happening right now in culture and in the lives of our fans.”
