Michael Sheen reveals Victoria Beckham once called security on him after mistakenly thinking he was a ‘tramp’ trying to abduct his own daughter

Michael Sheen has told how Victoria Beckham once called a security guard on him after she thought he was trying to abduct his own daughter.

Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, the actor, 50, told how he once went to pick up his daughter Lily Mo, now 20, from an ice-skating lesson in Los Angeles.

Victoria and David Beckham were also there and did not recognise the actor as he looked ‘quite hirsute’ at the time.

He said: ‘I was in LA and went to pick her up from an ice skating lesson. When I got there the Beckhams were there checking out the rink for lessons.

‘I was quite hirsute then and when Posh saw me she called security thinking I was a tramp trying to abduct my daughter!’

Michael shares daughter Lily Mo with former partner Kate Beckinsale, 45, with the pair dating from 1995 to 2003.

The actor appeared on the BBC chat show alongside actor David Tennant who is his co-star in the TV series Good Omens, based on the 1990 novel of the same name by Terry Pratchett and Niel Gaiman.

The former Doctor Who star plays the demon Crowley while Michael portrays the angel Aziraphale.

The novel, and series, follows their characters, who try to prevent the coming of the Anti-Christ when their respective bosses decide to kick-start the apocalypse.

Michael told how he was originally supposed to play David’s more villainous character.

He said: ‘I was quite hirsute then and when Posh saw me she called security thinking I was a tramp trying to abduct my daughter! (pictured with daughter Lily Mo in 2017)

He said: ‘When the series became a possibility Neil (Gaiman) assumed I would want to play the demon, but when I read a very early version of the script I thought, “I can’t do that, I’m not good enough.

‘ “I’m better for the angel part, that suits me.” We had a very awkward dinner and he finally asked how I would feel about playing the good character and David the demon. It was perfect.’

David discussed expecting his fifth child with his wife Georgia Moffett and telling his other children about the new addition to their family.

He said: ‘We have number five child on the way. It’s very exciting. There is a big spread of ages, with a 17 year old at one end.

‘When he found out about the new baby, he was like, “You’re having another one?” It’s odd when a 17 year old is giving his parents a lecture on birth control!’

Joining the pair on the show was actor Chris Hemsworth, music legend Gloria Estefan and pop-rock group The Jonas Brothers.

Speaking about the success of his film Avengers: Endgame, which has grossed $2.694billion, Chris said: ‘It’s incredible. I wore a prosthetic latex suit that weighed 60-70lbs. I had so much fun and got a lot of cuddles. I felt like Santa Claus.’

The Jonas Brothers performed during their appearance on the show and spoke to Graham about reuniting after six years apart.

Nick said: ‘It’s incredible, we had six years away. Getting the family back together was the priority so the payoff is even sweeter. We talked everything through over a drinking game.’

Kevin added: ‘We didn’t see each other for a long time and it took its toll on the family.’
