INXS producer says frontman Michael Hutchence asked him to ‘look after’ pop star Kylie Minogue as he ‘chased’ supermodel Helena Christensen when both women showed up backstage at the same concert
Michael Hutchence had women across the world swooning over his good looks and charm.
And a close friend of the late singer-songwriter has revealed he was juggling relationships with both pop star Kylie Minogue and supermodel Helena Christensen.
INXS producer Mark Optiz revealed to Stellar Magazine on Saturday recalled the band’s iconic sold-out show at England’s Wembley Stadium in 1991.

Michael dated Kylie between 1989 to 1991, and he split up with her before INXS’ stadium show. He began dating Helena from 1991 until 1995.
Mark revealed that before the show as many as 100 people were crammed into the dressing room, including the Aussie singer and the Danish supermodel.
‘It was a bit weird with Kylie and Helena there,’ the music producer admitted.

Former flames: Mark recalled, ‘I’d been in New York with Michael and he said, “I’ve got this girl, Helena, coming to New York tomorrow. I’ve been chasing her for ages, but Kylie is coming for the weekend. Can you look after Kylie for me?” I said, “F**k you Michael, that’s your problem!”. Pictured is Michael with Helena
Mark also recalled the New Sensation singer juggling both romances in the lead up to the big show.
‘A little while before, I’d been in New York with Michael and he said, “I’ve got this girl, Helena, coming to New York tomorrow. I’ve been chasing her for ages, but Kylie is coming for the weekend. Can you look after Kylie for me?”
‘I said, “F**k you Michael, that’s your problem!” he told the publication.
Michael later split with Helena in 1995 and went on to pursue a relationship with Paula Yates.

They welcomed daughter Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence in 1996, before his tragic suicide in 1997.
Paula died in 2000 from a heroin overdose. Her ex-husband Bob Geldof assumed adoption of Tiger, to be raised alongside her half-sisters.
