Meghan Markle Just Casually Rewore Her $16,500 Royal Wedding Earrings in NYC

Honest poll time: If you had access to the jewelry owned by actual royals, would you wear your personal collection of royal jewels A) Never, out of sheer fear of losing it; B) Only on the most special of special occasions; or C) Whenever you damn well felt like. The best life answer is, of course, option C, and that’s also the answer that Meghan Markle would proudly choose.

Meghan and Prince Harry traveled to New York City this week for their first official trip together since welcoming their daughter, Lilibet Diana, this summer. On Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex kicked off their NYC visit with a meeting with New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Kathy Hochul at One World Observatory.

Harry and Meghan both kept it chic AF in the style department, opting for coordinating black ensembles (Harry in a black suit and Meghan in a black turtleneck and matching black coat):

While it was impossible miss the Sussexes’ overall steez at the event, one very key detail from Meghan’s look flew under the radar. Eagle-eyed royal stans noticed, however, that Meg accessorized with a very meaningful pair of earrings from her personal collection. Look familiar?

If those sparkly studs decorating Meghan’s earlobes look familiar, it’s because she iconically wore them in May 2018, when she walked down the aisle in Windsor for her royal wedding:

As People points out, however, the royal wedding wasn’t even the first time Meghan stepped out in the (v timeless) white gold and diamond Cartier earrings. She also wore them in April 2018, a month before her wedding, to an Invictus Games reception in London:

And again in July 2019, for her son, Archie Harrison’s, christening:

Moral dilemma: Is fundraising for this purchase an appropriate reason to start a GoFundMe? No, right? I’m pretty sure the answer is no.
