Meghan Markle ‘asked Lizzie Cundy to find her a famous British to date’

Lizzie Cundy claims Meghan Markle asked her to help secure a "famous British man" when she was a single woman.

Three years before she met Prince Harry , Meghan allegedly asked TV personality and model to help her find a date – with some particular specifications in mind.

Lizzie had struck up a friendship with then Suits actress Meghan and accompanied her to a charity dinner in 2013, The Sun reports.

Lizzie revealed that she was having a 'girly chat' with Meghan in which she asked: "Do you know any famous guys?"

Meghan went on to say that she was "single" and "really love English men," and pleaded with Lizzie.

In the end the TV personality said: "We’ll go out and find you someone."

It had been previously revealed that Meghan had exchanged messages with Matt Cardle, who won The X Factor in 2010, as her search for love continued.

By then, Meghan had divorced her first husband, Trevor Engelson, and she was hoping for the chance to find a new partner when she visited London.

Meghan reportedly hooked up with Lizzie, the ex wife of former Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea star Jason Cundy, with the plan to go out partying as she was single and ready to mingle.

Revealing details of their friendship in her autobiography Tales From The Red Carpet, Lizzie wrote: “I was thinking about some of the Chelsea lot and I thought of Ashley Cole as he’d split from Cheryl.

“I showed her a photo of Ashley and she was like, ‘Oh yeah, he’s cute. Does he have a reputation?’ I was like, ‘Well, yeah, but you’re only here to have a bit of fun’.”

Lizzie recalled that she met up with Meghan the following day at the Global Gift Gala in West London.

She said that they enjoyed a boozy night: “Meghan’s so relaxed, she liked a drink, great fun.

“I remember her asking about my boys. She was very interested and asking lots of questions. Usually you find actresses just talk about themselves.

"She was really fun, really sweet. I liked her.”

Some years later, in 2016, Lizzie said that she was amazed to find that Meghan had started a relationship with Prince Harry.

Lizzie then claimed that Meghan cut all ties with her and she never heard from the soon-to-be-royal again, after Meghan had acknowledged Lizzie's text message.

The TV presenter tweeted that she held out a hope of bring a bridesmaid, but it was to no avail.

Lizzie claims that Meghan was told by the Palace to sever all connections with people in the media, and she has not heard from the now Duchess of Sussex since that moment.
