Meghan Markle and Prince Harry share tribute to Princess Diana as they call for ‘compassion’ with website launch

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made an emotional tribute to Princess Diana as they launched the website for their non-profit organisation.

The Archewell: Compassion in Action site is off the ground – and the Duke and Duchess have big plans for the New Year.

The homepage features a black and white photo of little Harry on Diana's shoulders, and young Meghan with her mum Doria.

Alongside the images of the pair with their parents is a sweet New Year message to their fans.

Harry and Meghan say they believe in the best in humanity as they have experienced it – and wished everyone a prosperous 2021.

They discuss the "compassion and kindness" they experienced from their "mothers and strangers alike" as they wish for a better future.

The couple have listed the work they will be doing, including their big money Spotify and Netflix deals.

The website states: "Archewell is the organization founded by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex that currently includes: Archewell Foundation, Archewell Audio, Archewell Productions.

"At Archewell, we unleash the power of compassion to drive systemic cultural change.

"We do this through our non-profit work within Archewell Foundation 501(c)(3), in addition to creative activations through the business verticals of audio and production.

"Archewell, through its non-profit work as well as creative activations, drives systemic cultural change across all communities."

The description states that they will produce "programming that uplifts and entertains audiences around the world".

It continues: "As part of the partnership, The Duke and Duchess will produce podcasts and shows that build community through shared experiences, powerful narratives, and universal values."

The couple's brand new website also sets out the foundation's work, listing partnerships with the Centre for Humane Technology, the Loveland Project and the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education, Stanford Medicine.

The description reads: "Archewell Foundation is an impact-driven non-profit created by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

"Our core purpose is to uplift and unite communities — local and global, online and offline — one act of compassion at a time.

"We believe that compassion is the defining cultural force of the 21st century, and through the work of our 501(c)(3), we support a growing community of partner organisations fuelling systemic cultural change."
