Megan Barton Hanson accuses Dancing on Ice viewers of ‘attacking’ her

Megan Barton Hanson has spoken out to say she feels ‘attacked’ by the public after she was compared to a ‘scorned ex’ while watching her partner Wes Nelson’s first dance with Vanessa Bauer on Sunday.

Dancing on Ice viewers noticed that Megan failed to crack a smile during their opening routine and rushed to comment on her ‘sour faced’ demeanor.

Meg has now hit out at the scrutiny and complained viewers have unfairly turned the spotlight on her instead of Wes.

Speaking in an interview with The Sun, she fired: "It must have been 0.2 seconds that my face relaxed and I wasn’t smiling – and now I’m bitter and a sour ex? What the hell.

"I felt backed into a corner. I was there to support West but now I’ve become the focus."

She continued: "We were on such a high after his amazing scores and to wake up in the morning and see that people had been saying I’ve had so much Botox I can’t even frown – I wouldn’t be frowning anyway.

"Wes is my boyfriend and I love him so much. I went to the show to support him, I didn’t realise I would be on camera or made to answer questions," she said.

After the show, Megan launched a scathing attack on Wes’ professional dance partner Vanessa.

Taking to Instagram , Megan accused newly-single Vanessa of being ‘disrespectful’ and using Wes for publicity.

Days after the explosive rant, Megan said she doesn’t regret her comments – only that she’d taken some of the shine away from Wes’ performance.

The Love Island finalist also insisted it wasn’t jealousy that drove her to take aim at her boyfriend’s partner, but admitted she’s "worried about them spending time together".

"Dancing on Ice is very romantic and all about looking into each other’s eyes and parading around on the ice and being loved up together – it’s not easy to watch," she explained.
