‘I was asked for ID while buying wine and I said to the lady I am 29 I turn 30 next month and she was like there’s not much I can do – she was very rude.’

Taking to her social media at home, Maura added: ‘And I mean its a compliment in a way I look young but in another way what if I actually really wanted a glass of wine tonight like its a bit f***** annoying do you know what I mean?

Maura continued:  ‘So loads of people have just pointed out – my necklace says 1990. I didn’t even realise that at the time. Like [taps head].

‘And what the f*** is this hairstyle like? Guys the absolute state of me.’

Tesco operate a Think 25 policy and the supermarket states on their website how it has ‘strong systems in place to ensure we do not sell to underage customers’.

The policy ensures that employees know when to ‘ask for ID and refuse a sale where appropriate’.

MailOnline has contacted Tesco for comment.

It comes after Maura revealed she has been celibate since her split from ex boyfriend Curtis Pritchard

The couple got together on last year’s series of Love Island but ended their romance in March and Maura has now revealed she feels ready to start dating again.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: ‘Dating in lockdown is impossible. To be honest though I’ve never really been one for dating. I’m not used to it at all. My first ever date was my ex-boyfriend, the guy I was with before Love Island.

‘Then on the show, although you’re dating in a whole different world. For me lockdown definitely ruined everything but I don’t think I would have jumped straight back into dating.’

Maura added that she is not the sort of person to get into a relationship too quickly and likes to take time for herself following a breakup.

The Irish beauty, who reached the final of Love Island with Curtis, added that you need to love yourself before you can love someone else.
