While Janet’s General Practitioner ‘didn’t care very much’ about her familial connection, that all changed once she got to the Emergency Room at her local hospital in Beverly Hills.

‘As soon as I got ahold of the guy at the hospital who knew who Matthew was, I was given the name of the head of the emergency room,’ she said.

‘Well, trust me, the folks I’ve spent my lifetime working with in Jersey City would never have been given the name of the head of the emergency room. If they were, it would have been disregarded.’

The sibling of the Election star continued, ‘My God, I hope this causes us to take some kind of look at how we are handling medicine in this country.’

As well as testing positive for COVID-19, Janet developed pneumonia and received an oxygen tube after her levels dropped.

‘I could tell I was actually in big trouble,’ she told the outlet.

Broderick said she has since recovered enough to return home to her family, after the hospital treated her with ‘ibuprofen and medicine they give for pregnant women with HIV’.
