Matt Goss visited by his mum's ghost after being voted off Strictly

‘I knew it was her, it was unbelievable!’ Matt Goss claims he was visited by his late mother’s ghost FIVE times in one night after being voted off Strictly

Matt Goss has revealed he was visited by his mum’s ghost after being voted off Strictly Come Dancing earlier this month.

The former Bros star, 54, lost his mother Carol Philips to cancer in 2014 but revealed that after he was eliminated from the BBC show, she appeared before him ‘about five times’ that night.

He told The Sun: ‘The night after I left the series I didn’t want to watch the show and I just wanted to be in my own bubble. I was getting streams of messages from people and that night I just lay in the dark listening to music.

‘A bag fell off a shelf. And then I said, “Mum is that you? If it’s you, can the music stop?” And then the music stopped. Then it came back on and did it again.

‘It happened about five times. I knew it was my mum. It was unbelievable and this incredible, warm feeling came over me. It was a beautiful thing and I knew it was a sign everything would be OK.’

Matt became the third celebrity to depart the dance floor during last week’s result show, after facing actress Kym Marsh in the dreaded dance off.

The singer – who was partnered with Nadiya Bychkova – performed a Jive to All Shook Up in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

Matt and Nadiya got 20 points on Saturday’s live show – leaving them in last place on the leaderboard – while Kym and Graziano bagged 32 points – putting them in fifth place.

After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts, with Craig, Motsi and Anton all voting to save Kym and Graziano.

When asked by Tess Daly about his time on the show, Matt said: ‘It’s an extraordinary experience, I have been in America for 25 years.

‘Thank you judges for your candour, you’ve helped me in many ways, my posture – Anton, I am more aware of it.

‘This lovely lady beside me, a world champion with all the patience. I am very honoured to have danced with you, and everyone who is still in, I love you guys, go smash it guys.’
