The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Oscar-nominee Mary J. Blige will be joining the case of the third season of MTV’s popular T.V. series, Scream.
Blige is set to portray Sherry Elliot, the mother of the lead character, Deion Elliot, played by RJ Cyler. Set in Atlanta, the show revolves around the life of popular high school student, Deion Elliot, who, along with his motley friend group, is hunted by a serial killer dubbed “Ghostface.”
The new season of the show is scheduled to premiere later in the year and its producers include Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere and Yaneley Arty, among others.
