Mark Wahlberg, 52, shows off his ripped torso as he wishes fans a Happy Thanksgiving before doing a cold plunge

Mark Wahlberg showed off his extremely ripped frame as he went shirtless for a fun Thanksgiving post on Thursday.

The actor, 52, who congratulated his daughter Grace on her show jumping victory earlier this week, went shirtless as he prepared for a cold plunge to start the day.

The 52-year-old showed off his rippling muscles as he walked out on his patio wearing only a pair of navy blue shorts and a hat.

The devout Catholic crossed himself before he began speaking to the camera.

‘Remember on this day, every day, give thanks and praise to the Lord,’ he said as he took the lid off of his patio pool.

Oh wow: Mark Wahlberg showed off his extremely ripped frame as he went shirtless for a fun Thanksgiving post on Thursday

‘I got a late start today, but I’m gettin’ it in,’ he explained.

He estimated the temperature at about 40 degrees Fahrenheit, and revealing, ‘it’s 40 degrees in the water.’

After he slid into the chilled water, he crossed himself again and said, ‘I’ll see you in the gym.’

Taking a cold plunge has been used for decades to reduce inflammation and stop muscle soreness from recurring.

But The American Heart Association warns it can cause an increased heart rate, chest pain and breathing problems, and anyone interested in trying the practice should consult their doctor.

The Joe Bell star is famous for his grueling workouts, which he occasionally shares with his millions of fans.

After waking up from ‘3.30am to 4am’, the Oscar nominee flushes down a slew of supplements and vitamins including turmeric and vitamins C and D.

He follows a strict diet that includes time-restricted eating, and usually fasts from 6pm in the evening until 12 pm the next day.

The Fighter star has only recently started drinking espressos which he uses to suppress his appetite during hours he stays away from solid food.

By his own lofty standards, this is actually a step down from his former fitness regime that saw him get up at 2.30am and plough through up to eight meals a day.

But the Transformers actor — worth an estimated $400million — says the new version is giving him ‘better results’ without having to do as much cardio or spend as long in the gym.

Of course, The Departed star allows himself the periodic treat. Afterall, he is a promoter of Flecha Azul Tequila and a co-founder of the Wahlbergers restaurants with his brothers Donnie and Paul.

The Ted star moved to Las Vegas this year with his wife Rhea Durham and their four children Ella, 20, Michael, 17, Brendan, 15, and Grace, 13, with the aim of giving his family the best lifestyle. They had previously lived in Los Angeles.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal about his productivity, the actor said he gets the most done when being ‘consistent with my routine’.

‘Getting the right amount of rest, really staying focused. My spirituality, my faith has got to be the center of it all.’
