Man Utd player ratings as Anthony Martial shines against Bournemouth

Marcus Rashford scored a stoppage-time winner as Manchester United came from behind to secure the points on the South Coast.

Bournemouth missed two great chances before taking the lead in the 11th minute.

David de Gea saved from Ryan Fraser and Junior Stanislas sliced wide before Callum Wilson converted a cross from close range.

United equalised against the run of play in the 35th minute when Anthony Martial converted Sanchez’s cutback.

Bournemouth went close to regaining the lead when Fraser beat Ashley Young on the left wing and drove into the penalty area before finding David Brooks in the six-yard box, but the Wales international’s deft flick was kept out by De Gea.

And that save proved crucial as super-sub Rashford struck at the death to snatch the spoils.

Here’s how they rated:

De Gea 7: First-half saves ensured United weren’t buried at the break.

Young BOOKED 6: Struggled to contain lively Fraser. Never looked comfortable.

Smalling 5: Made early mistake and continued to look uncertain throughout.

Lindelof 6: Improved recently but shaky today. Struggled with Wilson.

Shaw BOOKED 5: Looked some way off the pace. Offered nothing going forward.

Fred 7: One of few players who gave United much-needed energy.

Matic 6: Offered little protection early on but a little better as game wore on.

Pogba 5: One of those afternoons were little came off for the inconsistent midfielder.

Mata 5: Didn’t see enough of the ball to make an impact on game.

Sanchez 6: Chased everything but didn’t get any chances in striker role.

Martial 8 MOTM: On target once again. The Frenchman’s impressive form continues.

SUBS: Rashford (for Mata 56) 6, Herrera (for Fred 56) 7, Lingard (for Sanchez 78) 6
