Man United fans think they have spotted Mourinho’s replacement in London

Manchester United fans have called for Zinedine Zidane to replace Jose Mourinho after their Carabao Cup exit.

The former Real Madrid boss is the man wanted to replace Mourinho with storm clouds gathering over Old Trafford.

United were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Derby on Tuesday night to continue a frustrating start to the season.

France legend Zidane is in London after making the trip for the Best FIFA Football Awards earlier this week.

He posted a series of pictures with wife Veronique as they enjoyed a stroll around the capital on Wednesday.

United are in London this weekend as they take on West Ham in the Premier League, although it is unlikely Zidane will be in attendance at the London Stadium.

His post was met with a series of responses from United fans, urging him to move to Old Trafford.

Fans also replied to the picture of him inside a phonebox, joking he was in conversation with Ed Woodward.

Zidane, 46, has an impressive CV and in his two-and-a-half year spell in charge of Real Madrid he won three successive Champions Leagues and one La Liga.

Zidane is very interested in replacing Mourinho, should United feel they need to make a change at the top.

He is the 2/1 favourite to take over at Old Trafford if Mourinho goes, with the Portuguese now odds-on to lose his job before the turn of the year.
