Madonna, Emma Watson and more pose up with younger selves for amazing portraits

Madonna, Emma Watson and many more famous faces have been given the chance to pose up with their younger selves in a series of stunning portraits.

The clever snaps are the work of Dutch artist Ard Gelinck, who has painstakingly Photoshopped images of the celebrities now alongside their fresh-faced counterparts.

It’s fair to say some of the celebs in the line-up have matured like a fine wine, while others among them seem barely recognisable from their younger days.

And others seem to have barely aged at all.

Madonna

The Material Girl strikes a sultry pose as she wraps an arm around herself during her eighties heyday.

It was 1982 when Madonna launched into the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time with single Holiday.

These days the sexagenarian is a full time mum-of-six living with her brood in Lisbon, Portugal.

But she still manages to court controversy into her sixties with the odd skin-baring Instagram shot.

Emma Watson

Emma was just 11-years-old when she bagged the role of Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, propelling her to worldwide fame.

But at 28 Emma has successfully managed to avoid the usual trappings of child stardom and gone on to achieve a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and was appointed the UN Women Goodwill ambassador.

Tina Turner

Tina Turner’s rock ‘n’ roll life has been the subject of a brand new musical, but she’s still looking as glamorous as ever as she approaches her 80th birthday this year.

Mel Gibson

The Hollywood actor’s ditched the clean-cut image of his youth and embraced his facial hair complete with natural grey locks now he’s in his 63rd year.

Clint Eastwood

Blessed with chiselled cheekbones and a twinkle in his eye, the legendary actor still looks as charming as now as he did in the seventies.

At the grand age of 88 Clint is still releasing movies, currently starring in American crime drama The Mule, ten years after critics predicted Gran Torino would be his final acting appearance.

Kate Moss

A grown-up Mossy smoulders beside her baby-faced school photo, showing off her natural model good looks at any age.

Since putting her hard party lifestyle into retirement last year, the now tee-total Kate, 45, has managed to wind back the hands of time with her youthful appearance.

Elton John

Sporting his quirky sunglasses and toothy grin, the Rocket Man is instantly recognisable – though there’s been some help in the hair department since the seventies.

Last year 71-year-old Elton announced his plans to retire from touring with a 300 night Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in order to spend more time with his family.

George Clooney

Standing side-by-side with his younger self, it’s fair to say George Clooney has matured into something of a silver fox.

The famous Hollywood bachelor is now a happily married man and father of twins after settling down with human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin

Julia Roberts

51-year-old Julia is still a Pretty Woman almost 29 years after making the hit movie.

Robbie Williams

After putting his hell-raising Take That days behind him, 44-year-old Robbie takes a much more chilled approach to life alongside wife Ayda Field.

The dad-of-two might have ditched the skimpy vests but he’s still a showman to his legions of followers. He’s set for a spell at the Wynn in Las Vegas this March before playing Hyde Park this summer .

Amy Winehouse

The last of Ard Gelink’s images shows the late singer Amy Winehouse sat beside her childhood self, posing in a pink ballerina outfit.

At the peak of her career, Amy was known for her oversized beehive hairdo and thick winged eyeliner.

The Rehab singer passed away in July 2011 at the age of 27.
