Love Islander Ollie Williams' plans to work at a professional hunting school have been revealed just days after his exit from the show.
Following on his departure from the villa this week, Ollie released a statement denying he was involved in trophy hunting. He spoke out after fans were enraged by pictures of him posed up beside dead animals.
On the same day the statement was published, Ollie appeared in country lifestyle magazine Field where he discussed plans to work at a professional hunters' school in the Northern Cape before heading out to Mozambique to embark on a two-year apprenticeship.
He's described as being a "young man with a clear ambition to work in the sporting sector" who has been "bitten by the big-game bug".
The 23-year-old aristocrat is seen holding a gun in the publication.
Ollie told the mag: "Last summer I spent a month working with Zambeze Delta Safari as an apprentice guide. It was a fantastic experience.
"We arranged francolin partridge and guineafowl drives, stalked warthog, eland and water buffalo."
Ollie shared his plans with a reporter who had gone to work on his dad's Lanhydrock Estate in Cornwall in November, just three months before his Love Island stint.
The Field magazine reporter was sent out to the family-owned Cornish estate to write an article for the publication which focuses on hunting, fishing, shooting, game recipes and gun dog training.
In the latest edition of the magazine which hit shelves on Thursday, the reporter said of Ollie: "The big-game bug has clearly bitten him and he now plans to spend time in Africa in the Northern Cape working at a professional hunters’ school, before going out to Mozambique on a two-year apprenticeship."
The Mirror has approached a representative for Love Island for further comment.
It comes as Mirror Online exclusively revealed Ollie trained at the Northern Cape Professional Hunting School in South Africa – where he planned to return for work.
The Northern Cape Professional Hunting School boasted of teaching students how to hunt animals from lions to hippos.
Ollie declared he was bowing out of the show on a quest to chase the love of his life Laura Nofer.
The blond dropped out of the show after he was hit with a trophy hunting scandal which saw pictures of him posing with dead animals emerge.
His shocking photographs have sparked a hate campaign which have seen his family bombarded with death threats.
It's been reported his family home has 24/7 surveillance following the death threats plaguing Ollie.
After leaving the villa, Ollie issued a statement reading: "Having left the Love Island house I have become aware of the press stories circulating in the UK.
“I would like to make a number of comments on the various claims and accusations.
"I had no knowledge of the stories until I had left the Love Island villa and all cast members are unaware of any news stories while they are on the programme."
He claimed the reasons given for leaving the show were true and had nothing to do with the photos.
Ollie continued: “My reasons for leaving Love Island are as communicated on the show.
"I did not shoot any of the animals shown in the photographs nor have I ever shot as a trophy hunter.
"I did volunteer to take part in the conservation and anti-poaching programme in Mozambique, a part off which involves old or sick animals being culled. I was there as an observer.
"As I am no longer in Love Island, I will comment no further on this issue."
