Love Island’s Luca Bish revealed that he has finally asked Gemma Owen to be his girlfriend on Monday as the couple shared an OTT video to Instagram that captured the special moment.
The fishmonger, 23, previously revealed that he was waiting for approval from Gemma’s famous footballer father, Michael Owen, and flew out to Portugal to meet him in recent weeks.
And fans were left baffled as they claimed the scene resembled ‘a proposal’ with a rose display, cello player and videographer to capture Luca asking the question.

As well as the romantic setup, Luca surprised Gemma with a gorgeous bunch of red roses and a £6.5k Cartier bracelet to add to her collection.
While the international dressage rider, 19, cut a glam figure in the montage clip as she donned a black midi dress and a pair of gold heels as Luca escorted her out to a swimming pool filled with red balloons floating in the water which read ‘be my girlfriend’.
Sharing the video to his 1.4M followers, Luca played the Major’s romantic song Why I Love You over the romantic clips, captioning ‘finally’.
While Gemma shared a slew of loved-up snaps from the evening and captioned it: ‘Finally official. Thank you Luca Bish for a special night’.
The couple finished as runners up in the Love Island final where they lost out to winners Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti.

And the couple’s fans were quick to rush to the comment section to congratulate the couple, who have been dating since early on in the 2022 series of the ITV2 dating show.
However, many of their followers were left confused with the ‘proposal style’, questioning how Luca will top it when he wants to put a ring on it.

It comes after Luca had travelled to the Owen family’s private villa in the Algarve with Gemma so he could finally meet her dad Michael in person for the first time.
In the clip shared on his Instagram Stories, Luca and Gemma can be seen heading out together, with the brunette amping up the glamour in a brown midi dress.
‘Mission ”ask Gem to be my girlfriend” is in motion,’ Luca captioned the post, and in the clip he could be heard saying: ‘We’re going for an evening stroll…. with me girlfriend…PSYCH!’ while Gemma grins behind him.
The fishmonger had previously revealed he had met the former England footballer on FaceTime, and has already broken the ice with Gemma’s mother Louise Owen, when she visited the Love Island villa in the final week.

While Gemma has settled back in at home since returning from Love Island, her beau Luca revealed he’s planning on moving house to Chester to be near his girlfriend after they found love on the ITV dating show.
Luca, who hails from Brighton, has told how he is looking for somewhere to rent in the celebrity hot spot but won’t be moving in to her family’s estate.
Speaking after leaving the villa in second place with the PrettyLittleThing ambassador, he said: ‘There is no middle ground – it’s Chester or nothing!’
‘I’m happy to go wherever she wants me to go. I haven’t got too many commitments back home so it’s easier for me to move. Whatever makes us happy and whatever is right we’ll do. Hopefully if I move near her, in time we’ll get a place together.’
He added: ‘Just to be near her family I’ll love. Hearing stories about her barbecues and stuff like that, I’m quite excited and I feel like I’ll fit right in.’

It comes after Luca spoke out on being accused of controlling and misogynistic behaviour while in the villa, sharing that he has apologised to Gemma since leaving.
Speaking to Grazia magazine he said: ‘She’s a strong woman so she would never let herself be in a situation like that. There are parts where I’m thinking this is not how I behave on the outside world. Why did I do that?’.
In the show, Luca was left seething after watching Gemma have a chat with Billy Brown during Casa Amor, prompting him to question the strength of their relationship.
Fans at the time called for Gemma to break off her relationship after Luca raged at her for ‘flirting’ with bombshell Billy.
Luca, who finished in second place with Gemma, went on to tell the publication: ‘When you feel so strongly for someone and then you’re still getting put in situations because they [producers] are making us do challenges, throwing new people in there to play with your emotions and your feelings – I’d genuinely just had enough of it.’
