Love Island's Leanne brands Mike a 'game player' as she is dumped

‘It was a kick in the teeth!’ Love Island’s Leanne brands Mike a ‘game player’ and laments his lack of ‘loyalty’ as she is dumped from the villa

Leanne Amaning has branded Mike Boateng a ‘game player’ after he voted to save Sophie over her in the recoupling on Wednesday night’s Love Island.

The customer services advisor, 22, described her shock dumping was ‘a kick in the teeth’ as she thought Mike ‘would have had more loyalty’.

Leanne’s departure comes after viewers watched her cool things off with the policeman, 28, on Tuesday’s episode because everything he did ‘annoyed her’.

Angry: Leanne Amaning has branded Mike Boateng a ‘game player’ after he voted to save Sophie over her in the recoupling on Wednesday night’s Love Island

Speaking of Mike’s decision to couple up with Sophie Piper, Leanne said: ‘I feel like he’s disregarded the two weeks we spent together and I feel like sending me home was a bit of a kick in the teeth, but it might also be my karma for dumping him…

‘Beforehand, we had a good connection as friends, I would have thought he would have had that loyalty with me more. But he can crack on and I’m happy for him, I want him to be happy.

‘I was 100 per cent expecting it. I just knew I was going home.’

And Leanne shot down any hopes of Mike pursuing a romance with Sophie. ‘Oh, be serious… There’s absolutely no way,’ she said.

‘I think they’re just good friends and they’re in a friendship couple.’

‘Maybe Mike now [is playing a game]… it’ll be easier for him to crack on and do his thing without me there.’

On Wednesday’s show, Mike made a beeline for Sophie after his fledgling romance with Leanne came to an abrupt end.

Booted off: ‘I was 100 per cent expecting it. I just knew I was going home’, Leanne said

During the conversation, Sophie told Mike: ‘Just because you two didn’t work, it doesn’t mean it can’t work with someone else who comes in.’

Her comforting words prompted Mike to respond: ‘Why someone who comes in? Why not someone who’s already here?’

Realising what he was getting at, a surprised Sophie was then seen raising her hand to her chest in shock.

And in a later conversation with Callum Jones when Sophie’s name was brought up, Mike was shown declaring: ‘I’m going in all guns blazing.’

And Leanne said she would definitely be up for going back  in the villa again because: ‘I’ve still got things to say in there’.

The islander also discussed her split from Mike. She had previously told the girls:

‘I think I’m going to have to just lock it off with Mike. I think I just have to end it.

‘I feel like I’ve given it time… It’s been two weeks, surely I should like him more than this? I feel like I’ve just got the ick.’

Love Island continues on ITV2 at 9pm.
