‘I’ve grown up watching Phillip, Holly, Eamonn, Ruth and the team. Mad to think I’m now part of that iconic family. Can’t wait to crack on.’

The couple came in fourth place at the Love Island final on Monday, with Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea being named winners.

Maura won the hearts of the nation during her time on the show thanks to her no-nonsense attitude and strong-willed nature.

When she was coupled up with Tom on the show, she was left less-than-impressed after he said it would be interesting to see if she was ‘all mouth’ when they went away to spend a night in the Hideaway.

After calling Tom out, Maura headed upstairs to fill the other girls in, telling them: ‘I’m not bringing him to the Hideaway.’

The girls were startled by Maura’s comments before Maura explained what Tom said about her to the boys.

Meanwhile downstairs, Tom was taken aback by the bombshell’s reaction to his comment and the boys encouraged him to go upstairs and try and smooth things over with her.

Entering the dressing room, Tom said: ‘I feel like that was a miscommunication,’ but Maura told him: ‘What do you mean miscommunication? You said what you said!’

Maura continued to berate a speechless Tom, asking him: ‘Are you saying you didn’t say that?’

Tom attempted to explain: ‘I repeated what they asked me. They asked me a question.’ Maura says ‘You said it Tom!’

Maura was adamant, pointing out: ‘Maybe you should have been a gentleman. You shouldn’t have said that about me.’

Tom said: ‘I didn’t say it.’ Maura says ‘You did! Don’t lie to my face. I don’t want to speak to you.’

Molly-Mae Hague stepped in, telling Tom ‘just give her some space.’

As Tom left the conversation, Maura’s outburst seemed to have inspired some of the other girls. Molly-Mae hugged Maura and said: ‘You’re everything I want to be!’
