Love Island’s Amber Gill looks downcast as she wraps up in blanket on couch with pals after split from Greg O’Shea

Love Island’s Amber Gill spent a girls’ night in with Anna Vakili, Anna’s sister Mandi and Yewande Biala in London as her split from Greg O’Shea was revealed.

In a Instagram story posted by Mandi Vakili, 22 year old Amber is seen wrapped up in a blanket as she lies on a couch next to Yewande and another pal.

A downcast-looking Amber wears a grey jumper and appears to be make-up free, while her hair is tied up.

While Yewande grinned and waved when Mandi filmed the group on the couch, Amber failed to raise a smile.

Amber stayed in London with her gal pals after cancelling her appearance on The Late Late Show in Ireland with Greg on Friday night.

Amber was due to appear on the show on RTE One along with Greg and Maura Higgins, but following her split from her beau, she was replaced by other islander, Curtis Pritchard.

On the show, rugby player Greg, 24, denied dumping Amber by text message, as was earlier reported, instead saying the split was a mutual decision to protect their careers.

Greg told host Ryan Tubridy of his split from Amber: "Me and Amber have been chatting over the last couple of days and over phone calls, this whole thing about a text message isn’t true, people just want to tell stories.

"We’re mad about each other, I’m mad about her, what’s not to be mad about? She’s gorgeous, smart, funny, personality, the queen of Love Island for a reason.

"But you need to be realistic about the situation, she lives in the UK, every brand wants to work with her, every event wants her there, of course, she deserves all of it.

"And I’ve come back to Ireland to do my thing here, hoping to get to the Olympics with the Sevens team, I have my law exams coming up, so we’re both so jam packed busy and you need to take these opportunities by the scruff of the neck and be realistic about the situation so we’re protecting our careers, that’s where we are at the moment."

Speaking about their decision to part ways, he continued to say: "It was over a long time, it wasn’t over a text, it was a couple of days.

"I’m mad about her and I hope she’s mad about me so we’ll see about the future.”

Amber’s best pal has since slammed Greg, saying the Irish hunk has “pulled wool over everybody’s eyes”.

Mart Tweedy, who looked after Amber’s Instagram and Twitter accounts while she was in the villa, accused Greg of "pulling wool over everybody’s eyes" in a scathing tweet.

What are the Love Island 2019 stars up to now?

He tweeted: “Like, Greg took that £25k bag and RAN at the first opportunity he could – he pulled the wool over EVERYBODY’s eyes. He would be NOBODY without @AmberRoseGill.

“The night of the final, he had 110k followers, she had 1.9mil. I had to canvas votes SUPER hard to make up for his side.”

When some of his followers replied to his Tweet to ask about how Amber is dealing with the split, Mart said: “She’s a tough cookie.”

Greg, however, has taken to Instagram to post images from his night on Irish television, including a picture with singer Lewis Capaldi.

Greg – who went out partying in Dublin with Maura and Curtis – captioned the pictures: “Great craic last night on The Late Late.”

And some of his fellow islanders commented underneath to support him, despite his split from popular islander Amber.

Chris Taylor wrote: “I respect that you ain’t wearing socks with a suit mate. Lot of time.”

Anton Danyluk wrote: “Look great bro”, while Jordan Hames said: “Sharp my bro.”
