Love Island: Yewande says Danny ‘broke her heart’

Love Island EXCLUSIVE: ‘He broke my heart!’ Dumped Yewande SLAMS Danny for ‘throwing her trust in her face’ and admits she’s ‘too upset’ to watch him and Arabella get closer

Yewande – the latest dumped Love Island star – has slammed fellow contestant Danny for throwing her under the bus in the latest recoupling, leading to her untimely exit from the show.

The scientist, 23, was forging a romantic connection with the model, 21, learning to let her guard down around him, when newcomer Arabella, 28, stormed into the villa and ‘turned his head’.

And after days of will he/won’t he, Danny chose to recouple with Arabella on Monday night’s show, leaving Yewande to pack her bags and go home.

Unfair dismissal: Yewande – the latest dumped Love Island star – has slammed fellow contestant Danny for throwing her under the bus in the latest recoupling, leading to her untimely exit from the show

Speaking to MailOnline and other publications the morning after her eviction, Yewande said: ‘Danny broke my heart. It was hard for me to open up to him in there, and I fully trusted him. And he has just thrown that in my face.

‘That really hurt. But I guess you live and you learn.’

Of the fact that Danny will likely develop his romance with Arabella on national TV, for everyone to see, Yewande said: ‘Being in the villa and seeing them get on  was upsetting. I just can’t handle it. It’s going to be hard. It’s like watching your ex.

‘It’s all just really upsetting. And I’ve thought about it, and it’s just really going to be hard to watch.’

Asked whether a reconciliation with Danny could ever be on the cards, Yewande – who, when she last saw him, told him to ‘have a nice life’ and remarked that ‘what goes around comes around’ – said: ‘I don’t think so. I haven’t actually thought about it at all.’

She went on: ‘He did really hurt me and it would be unfair to say he didn’t.’

Of Arabella, she was a little softer: ‘I don’t know her, I’m sure she is a lovely person. It just really hurts and I’m finding that hard.’

One Islander who looks to be taking no prisoners is Amber, who was pals with Yewande from the get go. The beautician was seen on Tuesday night’s episode locking horns with Danny over the matter.

Too late: Asked whether a reconciliation with Danny could ever be on the cards, Yewande – who, when she last saw him, told him to ‘have a nice life’ and remarked that ‘what goes around comes around’ – said, ‘I don’t think so. I haven’t actually thought about it at all’

Girl code: ‘Amber is my better half. She is fiery. She’s not going to make it easy for them at all,’ Yewande said. ‘Knowing she has my back is really nice. She is just a good friend’

Before her exit, Yewande witnessed the very public spat between Maura and Tom, in which she caught him cockily saying to the boys ‘I wonder if Maura is all mouth’, with regards to their evening in the Hideaway [which didn’t end up happening as a result].

Of the tiff, which saw Tom chasing Maura around grovelling for forgiveness, Yewande said: ‘Tom’s apology was sincere. He apologised and grafted so much that it was almost funny.’

Unable to leave out another dig at Danny, she added: ‘The amount of grafting Tom put in… if only Danny had done that.’

The Irish beauty made no secret of her inexperience with dating while she was on the show, and elaborated that she doesn’t regret showing a more vulnerable side of herself.

‘It was the right decision [to go on the show] and it’s a good way to break down your walls.

‘That environment forces you to act quicker and speed things up [in a relationship] and taking it slow, like you would normally, doesn’t really work.

‘I don’t know how genuine some of those relationships are though. That environment forces you to make connections you wouldn’t otherwise. I think some are riding it out for as long as possible.’

Love Island airs nightly on ITV2 at 9PM.
