The seventh series of Love Island comes to an end tonight, with the final four couples battling it out for the £50,000 cash prize and winning title.

Islanders have come and gone over the past seven weeks, with several couples being given the boot by their fellow co-stars and the public as the series played out.

With just hours to go until Love Island crowns its winners, it’s been reported that Mary and Aaron have called time on their villa romance – making them the latest couple to split from the show – but where are the rest of this season’s couples and have their relationships lasted since leaving the villa?

MARY AND AARON

STILL TOGETHER? NO

Just friends: Reports have surfaced claiming Mary and Aaron are no longer together after she was seen ‘friend-zoning’ him during an appearance on Love Island: Aftersun following their villa exit

Single: Mary confessed to being ‘obsessed’ with Aaron, but played coy about their romance continuing as she said the footballer was like a ‘best friend’ to her

Both Mary and Aaron were latecomers to Love Island, with Mary entering the Casa Amor villa and coupling up with Toby to secure her place on the show. Aaron, meanwhile, arrived as a late bombshell alongside Priya and instantly set his sights on getting to know Mary.

While the pair were among the four couples to be voted the least compatible by their fellow islanders, Mary and Aaron seemed to have a strong bond, with the blonde beauty confessing she was ‘obsessed’ with her footballer beau.

Aaron claimed he bagged a ‘worldie’ on his exit from the Love Island villa, but reports have since surfaced that the pair have now called it quits after leaving the show four days ago.

Speaking on Love Island: Aftersun, Mary appeared to friend-zone Aaron as she was quizzed about the couple’s future by host Laura Whitmore.

She said: ‘I think we’re just gonna go home, when we’re back in the real world again and things are more normal we’re going to see how it goes, but I have definitely made a best friend in here.’

JAKE AND LIBERTY

STILL TOGETHER? NO

All over: Viewers watched on as Liberty decided to dump Jake just days before the show’s final after feeling like her boyfriend din’t ‘love her for her’ – prompting the pair to quit the series following their ‘final’ date

Going with her gut: Liberty has since said she feels she made the ‘right decision’ splitting with Jake

Straight from the get go, Jake and Liberty had an instant connection – coupling up on day one and going on to become the first pair to make their relationship official this series.

However, as the weeks went on Liberty began to question her boyfriend’s feelings for her, after he was seen admitting he ‘didn’t want to rip her clothes off’ and later told Liberty her ‘messiness’ was giving him the ick.

Refusing to change herself for the sake of their relationship, Liberty decided to call it quits with the water engineer and following a ‘final’ date, that saw them head out on a yacht, she and Jake came to the decision to leave the villa.

They shocked their fellow islanders as they announced their exit, with ‘Jiberty’ bowing out just days before the show’s live final. Since leaving, Liberty has said she feels she made the ‘right decision’ to split with Jake and the pair haven’t ruled out a reunion in the future.

BRETT AND PRIYA

STILL TOGETHER? NO

No romance here: Priya has said there is ‘just friendship’ between her and PHD student Brett after she poured cold water on their romance in the villa moments before they were given the boot

Fizzled out: While Priya and Brett seemed pretty keen on each other to begin with, she later branded the model ‘boring’ and insisted the pair were just friends and nothing more

Brett was the last bombshell to enter the villa and the PHD student immediately hit it off with medical student Priya, with the pair coupling up together just 24 hours after his arrival.

However, an awkward date that saw the boys cook dinner for the girls in the villa had Priya confessing that she was ‘bored’ by model Brett and when she was with him it felt like she was holding hands with her dad.

Brett later got wind of Priya’s change of heart and confronted her for not coming to him first, with the couple then deciding to just be friends moments before they were dumped from the island by the public.

Speaking following her exit, Priya told The Tab she and Brett are ‘absolutely just friends’ – ruling out any future romance between them.

She said: ‘ We are so similar and we got on so well. I don’t think there is anything romantic there but I know for certain there will be a friendship.’

HUGO AND AMY

STILL TOGETHER? NO

Tragic: Hugo and Amy’s romance was over seconds after they left the Love Island villa as PE teacher Hugo brutally described his experience on the show as ‘tragic’ while a shocked Amy stood next to him

Bitter: In a savage exit interview on Aftersun, Hugo called out Amy for using him as a ‘green card’ into the villa, while she slammed him for being ‘awful with women’

Hugo and Amy struck up a relationship during their time at Casa Amor, with Hugo choosing to ditch his friendship couple with Chloe and pursue something with Amy instead back in the main villa.

While things seemed to be going well at first, Hugo was later seen telling the boys he was ‘unsure’ about their romance and following their dumping from the villa, he brutally described his time on the show as ‘tragic’ leaving Amy shocked as she stood alongside him during their exit interview.

The couple then came to blows during an appearance on Aftersun, as Hugo slammed Amy for using him as a ‘green card’ into the villa, while she branded him ‘awful with women’.

She accused Hugo of ‘flipping’ on her and ‘friend-zoning her out of the blue’.

LUCINDA AND AARON

STILL TOGETHER? NO

Split: Lucinda and Aaron were only coupled up for a few days before being dumped from the island and Lucinda proved their romance didn’t last the flight home as she was later seen holding hands with former flame Brad on her return to the UK

No more: Lucinda told MailOnline she was ‘unsure’ whether there was anything romantic between herself and Aaron, but insisted the pair would stay friends

Lucinda had initially been coupled up with Geordie hunk Brad and was left devastated when they were torn apart by a public vote. They were voted by viewers as the least compatible couple and were then forced to decide who between them would leave the show.

Following Brad’s exit, Lucinda struck up a romance with Aaron and the pair were only coupled up for a few days before they were dumped from the villa.

Despite seeming pretty smitten during their time in the show, Lucinda told MailOnline on her exit that she was ‘unsure’ whether things with Aaron would continue on the outside world.

‘Unfortunately, both of us didn’t find actual love in the villa. We’re great friends, I know that I can come to him for anything. The aim of the game is to find love and I did really want to… I made amazing friends in there,’ she said.

Lucinda added: ‘We’re unsure what’s going to happen romantically between us, because we haven’t been able to properly see each other, and we’re both going to be busy because we have busy schedules going on so, if it’s not romantically we’ll be really good friends.’

Days later, Lucinda proved her attention was elsewhere as she was seen holding hands with former flame Brad during a date night out in Brighton.

Fans will no doubt be hoping the Love Island 2021 finalists will have better luck on the outside, as they prepare to leave the villa once and for all.

Monday night’s final will see Faye and Teddy, Chloe and Toby, Millie and Liam and Kaz and Tyler battle it out to be crowned this year’s winners.
