Lorraine Kelly is slammed by viewers for taking half-term off despite having an adult daughter – as Christine Lampard steps in as host
Lorraine Kelly was slammed by viewers on Monday for taking the half-term week off, despite having an adult daughter.
Fans of the ITV morning show pointed out that Christine Lampard stepped in as guest presenter – even though she has two young children, Patricia, five, and Freddie, two.
An ITV spokesperson confirmed to MailOnline last week: ‘Lorraine is now off for half term and will be back on Monday 6th November.’
Fans questioned why Lorraine was off instead of Christine, with one penning on Twitter: ‘Why is Lorraine off for half-term, she doesn’t have school age kids’
Another said: ‘It’s half-term which means the woman with a 28-year-old takes the week off and the woman with toy young children does her show!’
Baffled: Lorraine viewers were fuming on Monday after discovering the host has taken half-term off despite having adult children
Host: Meanwhile Christine Lampard, who has two young children, stepped in to host the show
A third added: ‘So Christine Lampard, who has young kids, steps in and hosts Lorraine during half term so Lorraine Kelly can also have half term off. Her daughter is 29. Her and Susanna Reid both have an air of entitlement’
One commented: ‘Ah yes. Lorraine has half term off despite her daughter not having been at school for about 20 years, only to be replaced by someone with school age kids. The usual makes-no-sense move’
Elsewhere in the show, Andi Peters was left red-faced when he accidently called the host Christine Bleakley, her maiden name, instead of Lampard.
Christine, 44, is a doting mum to her two children, Patricia, age five, and Freddie, two, who she shares with her husband Frank Lampard.
Lorraine, 63, shares daughter Rosie, 28, with her husband Steve – who she married in 1992.
It comes after Louise Minchin stepped in for hosting duties on Lorraine on Friday.
The former BBC Breakfast star, 55, took to the hot seat on the ITV1 morning show in place of Lorraine Kelly, who normally hosts the programme on a a daily basis.
The shakeup was revealed when Good Morning Britain hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard carried out a handover from their own show to Lorraine.
Kate said: ‘Louise Minchin is in for Lorraine at nine. Hello, how lovely to see you on this side of the pond!’
Louise replied: ‘Thank you so much, it’s lovely to be here. Good morning to everyone!’
During the programme, Louise was seen working out with Dr Amir on his latest fitness routine and chatted to Hollywood star Kerry Washington.

The newsreader also gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the new ITV1 reality show Mamma Mia! I Have a Dream , which will see judges Samantha Barks, Alan Carr, Amber Riley and Jessie Ware searching for a pair of performers to appear in the ABBA West End jukebox musical.
There was no explanation of where Lorraine – who has often been covered by the likes of Loose Women anchor and Good Morning Britain’s Ranvir Singh during her time off – was.
But an ITV spokesperson confirmed to MailOnline: ‘Lorraine is now off for half term and will be back on Monday 6th November.’
