Lorraine Kelly cracks open champagne before 9am to toast her Outstanding Achievement win at TV Choice Awards

She won the Outstanding Achievement prize at Monday night’s TV Choice Awards.

And Lorraine Kelly celebrated by cracking open a bottle of champagne just after 8.30am live on her ITV1 morning show on Tuesday.

The Scottish presenter, 59, was joined by fashion expert Mark Heyes, 42, who did the honours by filling her glass with bubbly to toast the milestone career achievement.

Outstanding achievement: Lorraine Kelly celebrated her TV Choice Award win by cracking open a bottle of champagne just after 8.30am live on her ITV1 morning show on Tuesday

Praise: The Scottish presenter, 59, was joined by fashion expert Mark Heyes, 42, who did the honours by filling her glass with bubbly to toast the milestone career achievement

Lorraine admitted she doesn’t usually enjoy a tipple so early, but wanted to partake because she didn’t indulge at the glitzy bash.

‘Is it not a bit early? Well we didn’t last night. We didn’t indulge,’ she said.

Mark piled the praise on the humble presenter, saying how proud he was to be given the opportunity to work with her.

Lorraine added: ‘Huge big thank you to TV Choice and all the readers and my team and the fantastic crew and everybody because they make it so easy for me.

‘We didn’t booze, we were very well behaved. It was nice to be out in a big frock.’

Cheers to that! Lorraine admitted she doesn’t usually enjoy a tipple so early, but wanted to partake because she didn’t indulge at the glitzy bash

Talented: Mark piled the praise on the humble presenter, saying how proud he was to be given the opportunity to work with her

Grounded: Lorraine added: ‘Huge big thank you to TV Choice and all the readers and my team and the fantastic crew and everybody because they make it so easy for me.’

Lorraine received her award from fellow daytime TV presenter Piers Morgan, who told her: ‘I felt very honoured because you are the queen of morning television.’

While handing out the award, he called his ITV colleague a ‘mischievous little devil’ and like a ‘trusted friend’ to the nation.

The Scot said that when she started out presenting, people were allowed to make mistakes and added that the business is much more cut-throat now.

She said: ‘Just be kind and enjoy the best business in the world. Aren’t we lucky to be in telly?’

Winner: Lorraine dazzled in a glitzy silver gown as she won the Outstanding Achievement TV Choice Award at the London Hilton Park Lane on Monday night

Piers took a very different tone to Lorraine, using his speech to call Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofeild ‘snivelling little b*****ds’.

This Morning pipped his programme Good Morning Britain to the post for Best Daytime Show, leaving Piers raging.

The GMB host sent the stunned audience packed into the London Hilton Park Lane into hysterics by shouting ‘f*** you and f*** your awards’.

He also called Phil and Holly’s acceptance speech for their Best Daytime TV gong ‘sickening’ on Tuesday morning’s GMB.

Plenty to smile about! The television host looked utterly delighted as she left the ITV studios on Tuesday morning after presenting her show
