‘And I feel like I have a small group of good friends who are just really good people. That’s the only support that I really need: friends, family and loved ones.’

Smitten: The actress, 36, who is set to make her comeback alongside Chord Overstreet in Netflix film Falling for Christmas, described Bader as ‘amazing’ and ‘calm’

Discussing her upcoming leading role, she said: ‘It was really comforting to me, when I got the script, to see a movie that was a romcom because it’s always fun to work on something lighthearted and family-oriented that makes people happy and provides a bit of an escape.

‘And I was excited… to do something with Netflix, which is a big family in a way. It was the right fit for me, especially to be able to executive produce it.’

Lindsay, who shot to stardom thanks to her parts as twins Annie and Hallie in The Parent Trap, went on to speak about her ‘evolving career’.

Speaking in the December/January issue, Lindsay said: ‘Well, I have an amazing husband, who’s a very calm person. Just the best. And my family’

She said: ‘It comes very naturally to me to play a role, especially in a romantic comedy, so it doesn’t always feel like work. But when you really look at the character and how much more you can give people on-screen through the character’s eyes, there’s so much to play with and change.

‘With this movie [Falling for Christmas], I specifically wanted to do more physical comedy…And I was like, ‘We’re here, why not? I’m willing to do it.’ I think the bigger you go in those situations, the better it is. You can’t be afraid of it.’

In the film, Lindsay stars as an heiress who loses her memory after a skiing accident and finds herself in the care of a handsome lodge owner and his daughter.

In addition to starring in the romantic comedy, the MTV Movie Award winner is also serving as an executive producer on the project.

Love life: As she begins her film comeback, Lindsay’s private life is also flying high after tying the knot with her longtime beau Bader

She said: ‘It’s a really different role that I get to play aside from just starring in the movie,’ she explained. ‘It’s being involved in the projects at every step: the whole casting process, the editing and production process.’

As she begins her film comeback, Lindsay’s private life is also flying high after tying the knot with her longtime beau Bader.

They confirmed they had tied the knot in July making a low-key announcement on social media with the bride writing: ‘I am the luckiest woman in the world.

She’s back! Lindsay’s interview comes ahead of the release of her latest film, which marks her big return to the small screen

‘Not because I need a man, but because he found me and knew that I wanted to find happiness and grace, all at the same time.

‘I am stunned that this is my husband. My life and my everything. Every woman should feel like this everyday.’

Lindsay moved to Dubai in 2014 to protect her privacy, but still travels to the US for work. Falling for Christmas was shot in Utah.
